Agreed Khaos Firedancer is terrible in this list. What 75 do you have sleeved LD?

EDIT - If it's the pile on the last page unsleeve it and build the original :)

Hi xdavisx, welcome to DTR :) - I'd highly recommend reading the full thread as we haven't figured out a concrete SB plan yet and different ideas are being discussed at various points :) That said here and here are your best SB plan starting points :)

@LD - hit me up on MTGO - I have all the important decks on there (important = runs Mountains :D) and am happy to lend you cards. All of us are happy to lend you cards! :) Then you can simply play the list and either win lots and buy it yourself or decide it's a pile :)

In Legacy Red Burn is playable right now, thanks to Eidolon :)

In Modern Red Burn is playable as it can simply snag free wins but RDW is a MUCH better deck :)

If I wanted to build up tix on a budget I'd either borrow a deck from us or play MonoU in
Pauper (which I think Z said he'd lend ya?)

@ Khaos - you are on fire (pun intended!) Sir - consistently excellent posts on multiple threads on both MTG and life/personal stuff :) Your hard work and life changes suit you Sir, it's a pleasure to know you! :)

@LP - I don't like Dancer here - way too slow and fragiel IMHO. I'm in agreement with Khaos that the list & SB is tight as is and pretty much spot on for the current meta. I can see a case for the Pillar and even the Javelin tweaks proposed and discussed on here but splashing W and running Dancer seems a bridge (or 2!) too far to me :)

@ PresidentMustache - the SB plan is [url=viewtopic.php?p=238399#p238399]here[/url:
p32bl8o9] - it was intended as a starting point but I'm happy to say that it's a fairly solid one given that Khaos found it acceptable :)

It's perfectly normal among Red Mages Khaos - MDU ran it, I ran it, G0D_L1k3 is running it too :) It's only 1 lil Stomping Ground, what harm can it do? :D

Also :frog:

In other matters thanks for the Dismember Pod feedback :)

I'm really enjoying playing this deck! :) I'm aware of the wisdom of running a list 'as is' before tweaking I've been running Pillar since it was first suggested in the thread and I like it, a lot :) I also like having the 3rd and 4th in the SB over the Dragon's Claw though I'm not sure this is optimal, especially given how much Red/Burn gets played on MTGO (even if it doesn't place I see it a lot).
Heal says that Molten Rain (UWR Control) and Rift Bolt (pressure Vs Twin though he say's it's not that good) are the flex slots in the deck. So far I've found Molten Rain amazing and Rift Bolt somewhat underwhelming. I ran LP's list with Flame Javelin and really liked it :)
I also
tried Magus Of The Moon MD MD as per LP's suggestion. I found 3 copies was enough but although the card good I'd be hesitant to change from Heal's set up based on my own comparatively few games. For ease of reference here's the list again :)
Heal's RDW with Pillar
[deck]RDW[/deck]
WIP SB Plan for Top 12 MTGO decks (75%
of the meta) - thanks to MDU for your posts, I've referred to them a lot and unsurprisingly I agree with 99% :) I've given my reasonings, mostly :) and I've expanded the list of match ups. I still consider myself a Modern newbie so feedback is VERY welcome guys :)
Melira Pod
IN
+2 Smash To Smithereens
+2 Dismember
OUT
-4 Vexing Devil

I like Guide as I like to put some pressure on their life total while I'm killing everything :) I don't like Blood Moon here - Pod can be cast with Phyrexian mana anyway. I'm not sure about Dismember MDU, I assume it is for Linvala, Angel
and Archangel?
Edited, thanks Khaos :)
Jund
IN
+2 Relic Of Progenitus
+2 Dismember? for Goyf
+2 Blood Moon? good but they have Decay, Pulse and discard
OUT
-4 Searing Blaze? few targets, don't want it sitting in hand
-2 Pillar Of Flame? few targets

I like MD Flame Javelin for Courser - I have issues with Courser :)
Splinter Twin
IN
+2 Dismember
+4 Pyrite SpellBomb
OUT
-2 Pillar Of Flame
-4 Searing Blaze?

I like MD Flame Javelin here, again :)
Affinity
IN

+2 Smash to Smithereens
+1 Shattering Spree
+4 Pyrite Spellbomb
+1 Dismember
OUT
-4 Goblin Guide - " Goblin Guide seems like a card which gets outclassed really fast." MDU's reasoning seems valid here :)
-4 Molten Rain - seems less good with Opals/Drums/Citadels and the fact that they need very little mana
UR Delver
IN
+4 Pyrite Spellbomb
OUT
-4 Molten Rain
Scapeshift
IN
+2 Blood Moon
OUT
-2 Pillar Of Flame?
RG Tron/U Tron
IN
+2 Smash To Smithereens
+1 Shattering Spree
+2 Blood Moon
OUT
-2 Pillar Of Flame - no targets Vs GR, better Vs U
-3 ? Not sure here - Shrine seems slow, Searing
Blaze isn't great Vs GR, Grim seems poor Vs GR too ...
UWR Control/UW Control
IN
+2 Blood Moon
+4 Pyrite Spellbomb
+2 Dismember
OUT
-4 Grim Lavamancer - slow
-4 Searing Blaze - few targets

MD Flame Javelin for Angel/Wall? :)
Burn
IN
+2 Dragon's Claw
OUT
-2 Pillar Of Flame/Molten Rain if Mono R
Storm
IN
+2 Dragon's Claw
+2 Relic Of Progenitus
OUT
-4 Searing Blaze
The other 25% - decks of note - Hatebears/Faeries/Merfolk/Blue Moon/Dead Guy Ale/Living End/Ad Nauseum/Bogles/Amulet Of Vigor/Zoo/Soul Sisters/Infect/BW Tokens/ Gifts Ungiven ... If anyone has anything to add about any of these please do!

VD is great in this deck.

It's like nigga's don't know how to sideboard.
Agreed about VD.

Also -er, yeah, it's true! I'm getting better but if anyone wants to knock up a basic Modern RDW SB 101 I'd be fucking delighted :)

And in other matters, this is a great thread guys! It's a pleasure to be here! :)

Everyone besides myself and LP, who has actually played with the Heal list?
Me :) I've only played Burn in Modern before and consider myself pretty much a total Modern newbie but I REALLY like the deck (great synergies, fun to play, classic RDW) and am slowly starting to slowly gain an understanding of the format :) I'm currently here -

[deck=Nicholas Heal's RDW, tweaked by LP]
Creature (20)
4x Eidolon of the Great Revel
1x Figure of Destiny
4x Goblin Guide
3x Grim Lavamancer
3x Magus of the Moon
1 x Vexing Devil
4x Mogg Fanatic

Instant (10)
2x Flame Javelin
4x Lightning
Bolt
4x Searing Blaze

Sorcery (6)
4x Molten Rain
2x Pillar of Flame

Artifact (2)
2x Shrine of Burning Rage

Land (22)
4x Arid Mesa
2x Keldon Megaliths
12x Mountain
4x Scalding Tarn

Sideboard (15)
2x Dismember
2x Pillar of Flame
4x Pyrite Spellbomb
2x Relic of Progenitus
3 x Vexing Devil
2x Smash to Smithereens[/deck]
Magus is in the MD for testing but It might be better to run 4 VD in the MD and 3 MotM (or 2 Blood Moon / 1 Shattering Spree) in the SB. Searing Blaze has been great but Searing Blood may be better.
