The BR option is a viable one. However R/W is far stronger because Boros Charm > Dreadbore + Doom blade . It really is amazing, and the only real reason i wanna try the Pyroboros. I dunno. that would definitely need to be tested. a land could really hurt, although as you pointed out we do have a nice bit of scry. I'm still very weary of losing a shock. Imho 12 burns is a minimum. but burn spells are a big reason i play red.

The ogre is too high cost and limited. You have to hope the opponent doesn't block so it can end the game. its a chance it could be a dead card in your hand. In my opinion anyway.

Problem is what are you going to take out? The burn spells allow you to go to an opponents head, which in turn brings back the lovely Phoenix. This although gives you 1 extra dmg and the ability scry one over a shock. Shock can bring back the bird which is a key thing imo.
