I mean, that really can 't be helped. The book starts up pretty much catching up from book two, a clash with kings. I realize the season finale was a bloody war where almost the entire Lannister family could have been killed, but now the time is peace.
I don't want to ruin too much, but it gets really exciting in a few episodes, based on the number of chapters book one covered (Also, recall if you will about an episode from Season 1 when the small council meets with Robert. I'll post against when I remember the name).
