I entered my first SE with the recent heal edition - I played G1 URw Delver, G2 Infect and G3 Split - it wasn't really the greatest selection of MUs but the build did well.

I'm not sure I'm comfortable beating Pod and Junk with the list though, it seems like I'll need many things to go in my favor to produce positive results (need to wait until I face them).

@Khaos: After playing Levy list, how do you feel about Blood Moon vs Extra LD (I'm looking at Cryoclasm mainly) for the Online Meta game?

On that note: someone lead me 2x Blood Moon for 2-3 days please :)

Just Confirming, Lightning_Dolt were you running the Heal's latest version with 10 face burns and 10 flex burns MD or was it the older RDW list?

I'll argue the Burn version is better vs Control and G based decks, while RDW is better vs Twin and Affinity (though both version are fairly decent in these MUs).

I don't know where too post this, but what are your thoughts on Heal's RDW list vs his currently list which I'll call a Burn list overall?

Mind you I'm currently playing Burn in online because its better vs G/B/x (though I'm running a tweak version of Hocking deck, the thread is here).

B-B-but LP said (I'm fairly sure LP played the deck):
Spellbomb does several things:

It replaces dead cards while still advancing your gameplan

It's a headache for twin

Kills etched champion and pro red guys like burenten forge tender and kor firewalker

It's a bomb.

Searing Blaze vs. searing blood is per pref. I literally didn't think when I typed blaze, but I prefer blood most of the time which is probably just me being greedy but I've been very happy with it and it gets around leyline of sanctity.
Logically I can see why, but hey YOLO lets just kill them quickly and be done with it (nothing wrong with YOLO'ING)

The problem is that the x/4 we want to kill have flash so rift bolt isn't likely too do the job.

I'm not saying your wrong Khaos, the only difference we're having is play-style - your trying to race the combo deck, we're trying to delay them - I see the bomb as a removal spell rather then a lava spike...

Not a fan of Dismember vs Zoo either.

Seem like we have different experience against Twin (I come from a more Burn and tempo background, heck I even play twins :p) I dislike how Rift advises itself and its slow nature, I feel that Spellbomb on the other had represent an uncountable burn which results in a situation where they simply CAN'T combo because they need to counter everything too go off, add Grim in the mix, Dismember and so on and you'll have them at a point where it would take 8+ mana before its "safe".

That said I agree its fantastic for racing and I love how its a free spell when you actually cast it :D - perhaps racing them is better then hindering them I guess I'll find out once I finally sink some hours into it, though it is alarming that the list didn't make a dent on the MTGO winning page.

Why? its Sorc speed - its rather weak compared with our other options.

Heck its best utility its killing the 0/4 guys which our other cards can just do better (I'll even keep fork bolt over it (that is how much I hate it)).

That said: MDU = ZERO Experience, Khaos = Experienced so please explain it too me why you think Rift Bolt is good here.

So far: I kinda like the Blood Moon and LD vs Affinity on the play plan (cause YOLO) keep up the advice guys :)

EDIT: Thoughts on "Making it Molten Rain" vs other aggro decks like 2/3 color burn? Or Zoo?
EDIT2: NM I just notice that if we're "making it happen" vs Affinity (the king of modern aggro) we can do it vs everything else (within reason).

Musing1: Post board we'll see annoying 4/4 piggies which gain life is dismember still a no? I think it is since we're already gambling on Searing Blaze

2x Dismember
2x Relic of Pregenitus
2x Smash the Smithereens
2x Blood Moon

Out:
4x Vexing Devil
4x Goblin Guide

Musing1: Blood Moons are questionable vs Pod, same with SiS imo would it not be better just too run 4x Bombs?

Is that deck still the best thing in the format? 3 sets have been released since I last tried it.
Its absurdly broken, even pre-8post banning but even more so now :/

@LD - hit me up on MTGO - I have all the important decks on there (important = runs Mountains :D) and am happy to lend you cards. All of us are happy to lend you cards! :) Then you can simply play the list and either win lots and buy it yourself or decide it's a pile :)

In Legacy Red Burn is playable right now, thanks to Eidolon :)

In Modern Red Burn is playable as it can simply snag free wins but RDW is a MUCH better deck

If I wanted to build up tix on a budget I'd either borrow a deck from us or play MonoU in Pauper (which I think Z said he'd lend ya?)
Great advice Mr Leader

Esp: "If I wanted to build up tix on a budget I'd either borrow a deck from us or play MonoU in Pauper (which I think Z said he'd lend ya?)" borrowing cards is the king of budget options because it is free ;-)

Which format?

If its Modern LP, Khaos, Nerd and Lazer would have more experience (I never really recovered from the DRS banning (yet))

If it Pauper: Z is the best man to ask, (this is another format which wasn't really the same for me post banning (I like playing against 8post (lol)))

If its Standard: I can help you with that (I'm almost done with my QP quota and I believe Lazer isn't playing his standard deck right now either) so we should be able to get lead you the whole deck :p.

If its Legacy: I think I'll be testing this myself next week :) or Modern depend on whatever juicy information I can gain from this thread

How many tickets would this be on modo? Any place I can check?
MTGOGOLDFISH (which Lazerburn mention too you earlier in the clan thread).

That said with Moons and fetches with will be rather expensive (cheaper then most other Modern decks or Paper but still expensive) if you want to play cheap Red and win you'll need to play legacy (it will cost you $82 at most) and it is at least rank 4th place in winnings.

Well.... I guess Urza Tron Mono Red in pauper is ok as well (it cost $11) but echoing Z, if you enjoy to wining you almost have no reason not too play Mono U Control in that format.

Question: On the play you have 3 1-drop creatures, 2-Lands and 1-Eidolon of the Great Revel and a burn spell.

On turn 1 you play a creature on T2 would you drop the Eidolon of the Great Revel or just the 2 other 1-drops first? (is there a MU where you would play it differently?)

I'm probably crazy for thinking about this, but I can't shake the idea of tossing in 1-2 Stomping Ground for Destructive Revelry out of the board (substituting for Smash to Smithereens).

My mind is telling me no, but my body is telling me yes.
It honestly doesn't hurt, this isn't standard so splash away (it'll only be an issue vs other fast aggro decks like Zoo, Mirror, Burn and Affinity).

Since I havn't play the list nor have I played Modern in awhile you shouldn't give my comment much weight BUT I personally believe cutting Grim vs Twins is a mistake, I also think Jund is a bad MU not really sure how too improve it (I might try a revamped P.Sul list).

I'll give it a shot (Heal's 75)
vs UWr (Restoration / Kiki) <-- No.7 on Modo

In:
2 Blood Moon
2 Dismember
4 Pyrite Spellbomb

Out:
4 Grim Lavamancer
4 Searing Blaze

Splinter Twin <-- No 3 on MODO

In:
2 Dismember
4 Pyrite Spellbomb

Out:
2 Forked Bolt
4 Searing Blaze

Searing hits a few cards but usually requires work so I've opted too cut it, Fork is ok... but the instant speed nature of Bomb is critical.

Melira Pod <-- No 1 on modo, aka pray.MU

In:
2 Smash to Smithereens
2 Blood Moon
2 Dismember
2 Relic of Progenitus

Out:
4 Goblin Guide
4 Vexing Devil

I personally don't like Relic, Blood Moon and Smash but I don't many other options.

Affinity <-- No.4

Out
4 Goblin Guide
4 Molten Rain

In
4 Pyrite Spellbomb
2 Smash to Smithereens
1 Shattering Spree
1 Dismember

Goblin Guide seems like a card which gets outclassed really fast.
Note: I havn't touched the list yet, and my experience with modern can date back by months (so I'm out of the loop).

Ash is quite good vs Snappy and Lingering decks, its not like we're running vaults so double RR isn't a problem so beside her being another target for Spell Snare I don't think its horrible (I'll personally run VD over her (online at least) because people love combo so getting that fast kill is really important).

P.S. Val when are you going join the DtR Clan online? We've surpassed the old clan's booster count under a month with very little members and now most people DtR forum goers are in it, so join us!!!.

If you get lucky and keep going 3-0 or 2-1 with the Modern happy crowd then I'll imagine the rate would be bearable other wise you'll be in for LONG waits after each fire.

mdu, what decks are you facing that are bringing in Leyline? Cuz I've been looking at the online stats and I didn't see a deck that was playing it (a relevant deck, anyway).

Leyline doesn't lock us out as badly if we were playing Burn or something. You can still punch through with creatures. However, Leyline actually makes our game plan...simpler. Any Burn spell or Shrine can now just be used to clear a path for your 1/1's and 2/2's. And don't forget that Vexing Devil damage doesn't target.
Fringe decks mainly, horrible stuff like Hive Mind, Boggles, Soul Sister, Reanimator and so on.

What exactly would those cards accomplish? You don't really care about enchantments and Bogles is already a bad matchup that Revelry will not solve. You already have maindeck hate for Storm and your Twin matchup is highly favored without a reactive card like Rakdos Charm. You don't need a splash to play Dismember so that's a wash.
You could run enchantment Sweepers which would beat boogies outright XD

That said I'm struggling too find room in my 75 with just artifacts and red anyways

4x Pyrite Spellbomb for ProRed creatures (infect, Robots) decent spell vs Control (gets under counters and cantrips)
2x Relic of Progenitus Graveyard hate (its a auto-include in modern - good vs Jund, Pod, Gifts, Living End, many many more)
n2x Blood Moon You autowin vs most of the modern field
2x Dismember mainly for twins
2x Smash to Smithereens Robots and Tron
1x Shattering Spree Robots

If the UWR matchup does prove fairly difficult, I'd try:

A) More Shrine
Most likely our best bet follow by additional creatures in the SB like Keldon Marauders or 1 extra land like Keldon Megaliths
2) Koth
With Neil's list this is like a T6 play (if we're lucky) which makes it counter bait - Koth is better in Val's version
Eh) Magus of the Moon
I prefer Blood Moon vs them, since it slows them down quite a lot
