Not stale at all. I've been testing Temur and been very please at how it does vs both Abzan and Jeskai decks. The format doesn't even have a proper control deck nailed down yet. We have a lot of evolution ahead of us.

5-1 with the Tom Ross list after practice matches. The fact that someone top8ed SCGWOR with the exact 75 makes me really respect the boss' insights. I didn't play against Mardu and never boarded in PE. I'm putting 3 Rabblemasters in the SB, because I hated having to side out FDS against weenie aggro...

What are those Peak Eruption there for? Mirror match? Sure not Jeskai/Mardu/Gr Monsters? In Ross' article he goes through a SB guide. The only match he brings PE in for is against Mardu Midrange. It's a bit surprising since the Mardu deck only plays 4 mountains and the fetchlands to get them. Howev...

I'm going to take the Tom Ross list for a spin at FNM tonight. Hammerhand is a card I skipped over in my initial build of Heroic Red, instead opting for [card]Mogis's Warhound[/card]. I'm a bit confused as to dropping RM, since he is a powerful source of card advantage in mono red, but with 8 ways t...

What did you take out for the Mana Confluence Jasper? I can't speak for Jasper or confirm how the manabase changed, but this was on the last page: The mana base for my list worked much better than expected. If I didn't have all 3 colors available on turn 3, I generally got them by turn 5, and playi...

I've been running into variants of a G/W/x Chord of Calling deck in my local paper meta. I've seen both Naya and Bant versions. Here is a decklist for the Naya deck: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/09-08-14-naya-chord/ I've had extreme frustration playing against this deck with R/W burn. It plays MD ...

Question: Would you bring in [card]Wear // Tear[/card] vs U Devotion? If so would you rather bring in Deicide knowing that current U Devo decks run 1/1 Hall MD/SB? The way I prefer to play that match is via grinding. So I'd only consider bringing in a card like W/T if I was taking out all my Skullc...

The Rabble Red match can often come down to your ability to play around Rubblebelt Maaka . The worst thing you can do is let them declare attack and then try to burn an attacker only to let them blow you out with Giant Growth . I recommend you add the following phrases to your arsenal when playing p...

I'm going to be giving Peak Eruption some testing in the sideboard going forward. Rx Devotion has become popular at my LGS and I want to stomp it out. I've been pretty disappointed with T/T. I tend to only board it in on the play vs Mono black and the Mirror. It's also a card that is great on turn 3...

I was on the RB train for the longest time, but found myself switching to burn too recently. I'm going to play the deck in the SCG Invitational this weekend. I've had great success with the deck in about a dozen paper tournaments leading up to this big one. It's a solid deck that has some good and some bad match ups and the bad ones don't feel too far out of reach either.

Congratsulations Zemanjaski. I haven't been playing burn this season, but what do ya'll think about Elixer of Immortality in the sideboard for the burn mirror match. I actually don't like Underworld Cerberus or Rakdos Return, they are cards for other decks. The problem is that if you want to play Cerberus along side SBD, you absolutely need 25 lands or more. On playing vs Burn.

@Raida But by playing more swamps it makes Chandra's Phoenix harder to cast and it can potentially hurt being able to sequence 2 spells in the same turn. In theory, I'm not going to be an optimist about Pack Rat in this deck. The card can run away with games all by itself, but it's been a stable of Black Devotion lists for over 3 months now. @Tyrael It's been said before that FWP is good vs G/R. Since they generally have trouble blocking a flyer and it's either a 3/3 that just returns when they try to Mortars it or it's a 5/5 that outclasses both Mortars and SBD. I can understand how Mizzium Mortars seems like it doesn't belong on the deck. It's really only in there to answer one specific card, BBoV, but as a 2 cost kill spell it can also be boarded in as just an extra terror vs aggressive decks where you want to play the control game; usually a 4 cost card ...

One reminder about Flame Wreathed Phoenix. The way Tribute works is that if the tribute isn't payed the creature then gets a trigger ability that in FWP's case grants it 2 abilities.
