just checked, some smiley's have problems, others not, and its independent on whether they are animated or not

yeah but what about the non-animated ones? they also suck.

I'd leave it for the time being, while our userbase isn't counted by the several hundreds. It gives a nice humane community feel and I'm sure people appreciate it.

Later on if the site gets more massified we can retire it.

smileys are still awful in dark skin, if only someone took the time to update the transparencies for every single one of them...

There, fixed, I decided to stop being a lazy bum and I took 10min of my life for this.

yes its in the todo list, it must have been some regression when I added some new stuff because it was showing before.

So muh better without the "swatches" and I would like to see said skins without the powered by!.

But OK serious post now, if the duplicated title Dies to Removal powered by debian is such an eyesore, I can take it out in every skins, I've already tweaked them here and there in the past, so I definitely know how to work them (well, editing html/php code is not something very hard), the only thing is that I'm not a graphic designer so my aesthetics are questionable.

seriously though, obviously the text can be removed from the skin. we just need to edit the html of every skin.

It doesn't match up with the border on SubSilver2. Also, can we get rid of the text? Powered by Debian and all that? Maybe put it at the bottom of the page instead if it's something that NEEDS to be displayed? It looks tacky.

that border thing (don't listen to checkbox) is rather from the borders of the box below the banner. Nothing wrong with the banner itself, we'd need to update the skin themselves, but then there would be a lot to update. That's graphic designer work.

I think we have a few articles that have been done and are just lying around in PM's (Checkbox made one on cubing) for lack of a properly structured frontpage.

the current banner is 300x100, but practically there are no limitations on the size, whatever you feel is the appropriate size and format...

i haven't tinkered with permissions, but it may be a reasonable idea to make testing areas public-private, so that they are visible and people can ask for permission to join them (or make it so the group creator can request one mode or the other for their group... like, make membership open or closed basically). i am pretty sure this is already something we can do, but currently i haven't tried to make any new subsections and couldn't tell you.

well that's what we did in clans in which we made hidden and visible/read-only sections. The trick software-wise is to make a new group and then give read/post permissions to this group. Its easy to do with this software.

we've been adding private areas for people who ask them, and we have quite some few already. All there is required is to have a critical mass of members, because there's no point in doing a private area for one to three users. So yeah, totally feasible as long as you bring enough people to the table.

btw this reminded me that post deletion was still off because of that guy who loved deleting his posts I've put post deletion back to normal.

I did some housecleaning of the BBCode tags, now it only displays the main ones although the alternative ones are active.

for example it only displays the [card] tags now although the shortcut is active and the [card=] too. They are listed in the faq.

I've also replaced the [spoilernest] and[spoilernestnest] tags by [spoiler2] and [spoiler3] tags and removed their visibility.

Just go to user control panel -> profile and edit the fields.

Defaults at 40ppp and 25tpp

Added Custom Title mod Any user registered for more than 30 days and with over 250 posts may now edit the custom title by himself.

i have cleared the cache of all the forum styles, try ctrl+F5 a few times, maybe it will fix things.

We are still restoring things in the aftermath of the failed calendar experiment. sorry for the inconvenience. This allowed me to tweak some nice changes to the forum permissions, as you've noticed, I've put chat public for guests, if you disagree with this, let me know your opinion, it can be reverted.

I installed a calendar mod. Unfortunately this seems to have the side effect of removing the last topic title for some reason. If this cannot be fixed, I will revert the addition of the calendar mod

GR is currently developing some javascript code for improving the deck tags. We are testing it in the vphpbb3 skin for the time being, expect improved deck tags soon once this is done.

is there any hack or way to imbed, for example, soundcloud and similar sharable online audio? my suggestion if this is possible is to make it an option in the music section (and only there or in unlimited posting subsections). my thought was that the sharing style would be similar and unobtrusive as it appears on tumblr (for reference, click the tumblr url in my sig and add /tagged/music).

i'm not good at coding, but can look into how coding looks for it when posting to tumblr, etc.
