Rx Burn

For that specific tournament I would switch the Firewalker to dragon's claw. Easier on the pain of the lands and there was an abundance of burn. I also think I would like an additional deflecting palm as it is an addition card against obnoxious decks like bogles. So in essence ditch the 3 firewalker...

Rx Burn

Hey fellow red mages. I haven't posted in a long time due to inability to play mtgo (children). I still play modern on paper with a local community. I recently took burn to a top 8 at Michigan SCG states recently. I went through the swiss portion dropping just 2 games one to burn mirror and one to l...

LP, I like revolution's board for the most part. I feel really naked playing a red deck with only 2 skullcrack though. Maybe cut a titan's strength and an eidolon to round out the cracks. However, if gary's days are numbered based on the PT results we may not need as many cracks.

I think the straight Red version is soft to monoblue while the R/W version will be at a disadvantage in the aggro mirror. Pick your poison I guess.

I virtually ran shota's list with more mortars at GP chicago. I ended up 3-3 drop I had two round bye so I ended up 5-3. Things I learned, flamespeaker is the truth. This guys wins games on the spot. I also learned that the field was VERY prepared for us. I played a ChannelFB guy on Bg devotion with...

Anyone testing the Soviet Russia burn list that won GP Moscow. I have been doing very well with it. It is good, I do not like the fated conflag in the board though. It could easily just become a 2nd chandra.

Is anyone even trying out the RDW lists from sandydogmtg and the like? The aggro devotion lists? I like them a lot, however if there is an influx of mono U due to the last open, I will be wary of playing it. I hope the invitational this weekend has them do very poorly so they go off the radar for GP...

Firedrinker satyr is a thing, not having any threat against the control deck allows them to durdle to infinity and then just bend us over. Making your deck more threat dense seems appropriate. I still don't hate keening though. He is better topdeck late.

It almost always depends on deck and hand for me. If you are a 'slower' deck like twin, control, etc. you always kill the dork. With an aggressive approach like Burn or even the new RDW it is much more debatable. Turn 1 GG is still my preferred play in format.

@MDU: if you get to the dragon's claw it is a bye. Also early shrine helps some. They are just faster in regards to the burn matchup. The relics seem like flex slots in the board if you ask me. I will tell you what it is a piece of shit against burn. I have played it and it is pretty good against the field until you go into a daily run into multiple BR, mono R or WR burn decks.
