What about Flamespeaker Adept at the 3 spot? It's probably a different deck but I love the idea of him being able to attack through just about everything in the format while holding a spark jolt, magma jet, or shoot even a spite of mogis.

I love the look of the Mardu decks so far. Love butcher, love the synergy with the token generators. The charm looks a bit lackluster against more efficient token generators and Stoke, plus the third mode seems like it will whiff often. Anyone messed around with adding Stoke the Flames to these lists? Seems like it would give the late reach we need to close out the game. Also, Ulcerate would be good tempo inclusion.

I would leave them in. It is another durable threat. Also, what would you be bringing in? In my list, the only thing that would come in would be Chandra and maybe Wear/Tear if they are still on an Eidolon plan.

I was trying -4YP$, -1 Mortars, -1 Shock, +3 Flamespeaker, +2 Chandra, +1 Wear.

Is it correct to drop YP$ in the mirror? My thoughts are he basically reads 1/1 for 2 mana in the mirror, I still see a lot searing blood, and he and his tokens are weak to Chandra. Since Gryff is good against a large portion of the meta, is it wrong to think that maybe it deserves a slot or two in the main?

I definitely feel like the underdog in the mirror when they are running eidelon and I'm not. For those of you running lists without any eidelon, whats your gameplan for this matchup?

I haven't really played against this deck. Just wondering what the strategy is with BTE. Say you have one in your opener, do you slow play it until you can chain a fanatic off of it, since otherwise you would just be wasting mana? If you have multiples in the opener I'm assuming you would just chain...

Not sure why you think searing blood is bad vs monsters (apparition is bad because every creature they play from t2 onwards outclasses it, which is why 1 drops, or ash zealots are bad in this matchup)).... I have never entered that matchup thinking I needed to be the aggressor. I am probably wrong....

Do you guys think tormented thoughts could work in a shell with 8 3-power 2 drops, a big top end, and pack rat plan b?

Master of the Feast looks like a great card but it is going to make the 3-drop decisions even harder. Not necessarily a bad problem to have though.

Would SotP be enough to turn the mirror favorable? He is a lot easier to cast and their charms and helixes would only do 3.

Thanks for the responses. I was thinking of it kind of as a replacement to CttR that has synergy with YP. But like you both pointed out, if you don't see it early it is much worse.

I don't understand why you would splash red and run 0 Dreadbore in the 75.

I'm having problems with esper aggro. The lyevs slow me down too much before they get demons and lbz out to ruin my alpha strikes.

I like the list a lot. It is pretty similar to where I was going with my list. I don't like the single Nighthowler so I'll probably test a 2nd pack rat or a gift.

TKA helps that matchup a lot since it dodges shock and MJ.

As a sidenote, I noticed that one of the main reasons for losing was flood at 24 land. I noticed a lot of the recent lists dropping it to 23 land, which I did as well.

I may even test 22.
