Dies to Removal

I'm finding against Scapeshift and the new Pyroclasm decks, and vs. Pod having Swiftspear has been very helpful.

I'm actually moving towards the Swiftspears main, just trying to decide on 4 cruise or a mix of Cruise/Digs.

But I missed having 8 Delvers, thats for sure.

what would be really fun is Bloodghast and Thoughtscour with Treasure Cruise and Delver and Goyf and Abrupt Decay and Darkblast

That's what my inclination was to do. The way the meta is shaping up, the decks I want blood moon vs. I never really need it, it's just a niche pick.

I'm moving down to 1 for a shatterstorm I think.

You guys are going to want Affinity hate that doesn't cost 1 mana.

As someone who plays Affinity, I'm running 3 Chalice of the Void's in my sideboard now, and that card is a beating.

I'm also debating going to 18 land in that version but I'm not aure

Have you tried 1/2 swiftspears with that version just to try with another delver?

Ari lax is playing the deck, but he's playing a list with 4 Swiftspear 2 snaps. I actually like his numbers and he's the first SwiftDelver player I've seen that combined good play with an almost optimal decklist.

To each his own, but I always wanna see 1 and 3 allows that for me

I'm also sticking with my 3 dig through times. Card is nuts

I went 4-1-1 today, then my burn opponent scooped to me in the final so I would get more points for our player of the year thing, and we split credit (he was on treasure cruise burn).

Played Pod 3 times, drew with burn, beat burn, and lost to grixis control to a misplay game 1 that didn't matter (probably) because I drew 12 of my 19 lands but it might have so I'll just say I lost to misplay, and game 3 I just didn't draw a counterspell off my dig to counter his dig. Oh well. Still did well and I get to make an elemental token with my face on it

From the pod games I played, both during the tourney and testing for top 4 it's unlosable if they don't draw pod.

I also actually like it vs. pod. I counter voices all day everyday.

It's scary how similar our lists are. Is this as close to optimal as it gets? O.o

Oh and 1 less burst lightning for 1 more pillar for the pod matchup since it's so popular here

Our lists are the exact same except I have one less snare and one less electrolyze for 2 Vapor snag but other than that it's exactly the same

I think you should cut a blue fetch for a red fetch.

Helps keep your life total high and you need more red sources in my experience

So cut a Steam Vents for a Sulfur Falls?

I kind of want to play Smelt so I can have instant speed artifact removal, but I think Vandalblast is just better

Swiftspear is better in the aggressive versions with Vapor Snags, Forked Bolts and the like.

I prefer the controling versions, as it has better game against the field and better late game.

All the lists performing on MODO seem to be running Monastery Swiftspear...

Am I crazy for contemplating Rabblemaster as a 2-of?

Now some of you might be thinking "if Vapor Snag gets sided out that much, why are you running it?" the answer? Catch-all. Preboard, I want to play aggressive in most matchups and Vapor Snag helps me do that, and its also good vs. quite a few fringe matchups.

His list was bad, in that it wasnt optimal vs. Affinity, which is why he had such a hard time.

His other loss was to Blue Tron which is honestly one of the hardest matchups we have. I'm not too worried.

On a side note, I dont think Pod can beat us. Ever. I'm 6-0 vs it with my version and GerryT thinks the matchup is a beating for us. Which is awesome.

I'm gonna actually sit down tonight and figure out what 75 I want against each deck rather than tweaking the shell I stole from Zeman so I can have a proper sideboard rather than "this seem Good, sure "

Some things I've noticed with the deck:

1) needs more threats. I'm going up to 4 Pyromancers most likely. On that note...
2) Grim Lavamancer is pretty meh game 1. Which is scary because we need more threats. To compensate:
3) 1-2 more burn spells.
4) I also want Vapor snag in the deck again. Just as a catch all.
