Went undefeated at Game Day today (glorified weekly with Top 8 ), deck ran great. Was even less happy with Deflecting Palm, will probably cut it for something more consistent. Arc Lightning has been pretty stinky too, I would much rather be casting a Crackling Doom. I think you guys are insane runni...

If I'm siding in answers I want them to be able to hit Whip/Bow as well as the other stuff I need to deal with. That basically leaves Erase and Banishing Light, meaning I'm also probably on 2 Banishing Lights. I also ran Wear//Tear consistently the entire season and loved it the whole time. Also the...

Rabblemaster has "taken over" maybe 2% of my games. You realize a jeskai list just top 8 the PT without rabble right? First of all, that's a different deck, second, two of them did have rabble. Also I flat out don't believe that Rabblemaster only took over 2% of your games if you were pla...

Every creature in the deck is easily removed unless you bump your curve higher. Rabblemaster can take the game over by itself and gets removed often because it's a must answer threat.

I remember when people were arguing that Pyromancer was bad because it just dies.

Props to BrainsickHater for talking me into audibleing to Burn. I threw a list together main decking Hushwing Gryff. Ran 3 Ride Down in the board which was insane. I made Top 8 after conceding to a friend to get him in, then I dropped because another friend was 9th. Deflecting Palm was swingy, won m...

Jund Walkers can ramp out threats that both out-race and out-value burn (Nissa/Xenagos/Etc) while clogging the ground with the Caryatid/Courser package. Post board they can exile Phoenix and Duress you. So on paper the matchup appears bad, and in testing against good pilots it's been bad. While play...

I don't want them against the new Red decks
Buh? 1 mana removal is exactly what I want against those decks. Sure, it's sorcery speed, but it's cheap enough that you can still hold up an Instant.

Reckoner houses Rabblered so badly that it's actually embarrassing. I'm sticking with them for the Open, they're good enough enough matchups. Has anyone playtested them against MonoU by the way? I'd guess they'd be fine, not sure if they should come in though, I haven't tested them enough.

I haven't tested the WB Midrange matchup since the last time it was popular, but shouldn't Gryff be great against it? I'm expecting the typical meta of Jund, Junk, MonoU, and MonoB with a spattering of Walker builds and an uptick of W/G aggro.
I'll be building accordingly, and probably ignoring the PT results.

Against MonoU you don't have to save Hushwing Gryff as a trick, just run it out and start beating down with it. They are so removal light already.

Basically my biggest deciding factor will be which green decks emerge as the most popular and how many mana dorks they run. If they're running the full sets of Mystics and Voyaging Satyrs as well as BTEs, I'll be happy to have Searing Bloods. Given how explosive the green decks can be, killing a man...

I'm leaning back towards Searing Blood in the board again, there are so many juicy targets for it, including the new Mono Green devotion lists.
