Hey again Jack. I'm building my own Riku list, with a combo focus. I'll be sure to post it here when I get it to beta version. How do you feel about Food Chain? I feel like it would be a really good addition - you can play creatures as rituals by exiling the tokens, working up to casting your bigger...

Update

Major update and overhaul to celebrate that I finally got a Mana Crypt. I'm looking for more win-conditions right now, as well as just general feedback on my deck and primer.

38 lands seems pretty high. you also need a better early game. try going to 34 and including mystic remora and rhystic study. there's no reason not to throw bust in there, preferentially over back to basics.

i don't like X spells in this deck - you're too mana-hungry and want to be suspending spells.

How different would you say this deck is from Momir? You play very little red, and while I'm sure Riku is a useful commander, Momir is too. Thoughts?

Played a bunch of games with my playgroup today. Won all but one or two, excluding games where I piloted someone else's deck. What I really got out of it was how good this deck is at recovering. I do a pretty good job in the long game. The last game was the most interesting. The Shattergang player s...

My bud plays a Roon deck that I built with him, and we've been using Sphinx of Uthuun in our deck too. It's been underperforming and I agree with you that for seven mana, the card should significantly put you ahead, which Sphinx only sometimes does. It's definitely great if you have a Deadeye Naviga...

Burgeoning, Exploration - I play 31 lands; these are both rather unplayable. Carpet of Flowers - Doesn't produce mana sometimes, doesn't give instant-speed mana. Joraga Treespeaker, Lotus Cobra, Somberwald Sage, Bloom Tender - Mana dorks aren't very good in this deck because I need more stable mana....

Jarad Combo Primer

Intro Here’s my Jarad list currently; it’s my “competitive” deck and I’ve been fine-tuning it for a few years now. It functions as a combo deck with a reanimator engine. It goldfishes around turn 4-5 win. History http://media.wizards.com/images/magic/daily/li/li117_ex.jpg Before we begin, I'd like ...

I wouldn't play exclude. It draws you a card, but that's redundant because Damia would already draw you that card. Go ahead and replace that with some better counterspell.
