[Deck] Burn

Exquisite Firecraft doesn't seem good enough honestly, more sulfuric vortex, then possibly some number of Red Elemental Blast/Pyroblast or Vexing Shusher, seems much better.

Does this deck actually play black vise?

it does help the Miracles MU, they can't swords/terminus it, but is the possibility of having it in your opening hand worth the trade off of it being useless as a top deck (especially compared to whatever card you could draw)

Pyroclasm might be okay given all the young pyromancer/mentor decks, dont think that is really where you want to be though (especially when it kills eidolon), and ensnaring bridge may simply be better

Speaking of bridge, you may consider that route as well, as it stops NO, and will buy you something like 1-2 turns as well

Would not be concerned about dragons claw imo, no one plays it in paper

I'd probably shave some number of swift spears against elves, arbor+quirion or symbiote+elf means it's not getting through, and the deck has enough redundancy that losing an elf isn't making that big of a difference

Provided you can't cut to them only the most anal judges are going to say anything and if you are concerned about warping, salt packets help with that (Think the ones you get in shoes)

Grim gives you game against Elves and Stoneforge Decks, whereas Taylor Swiftspear really doesn't , you don't have any free spells other than fireblast, no way to refill on gas making swiftspear dead very quickly.

Lavaman dying is fine, sure you get not value out of it, but it says more about how dangerous that card can be if unanswered, Elves has a rough time against that card if they can't power through it and it almost assuredly answers batterskull (via killing stoneforge)

Elves is a fantastic matchup if you're playing Lavaman alongside Blaze and Blood. That's why PSully's list is the best one out there right now. You just overload on Lavaman and Searing effects and bring in Flame Rift when you need a faster goldfish.
As someone who plays elves, I laugh at your feeble attempts to kill me

My sideboard is my greatest concern. I am trying to decide if I am willing to just give up the Storm match up to add 3 Searing Blood to the fetchfull sideboard. I have a feeling that Dredge will be making a resurgence at the GP so I can't cut the Crypts.
Storm has never really been popular in the us, sure you're in the NE, which is more likely to feature storm but given the meta has largely been unfavorable to it for the past 6 months, I would not bet on seeing a lot of it

I would imagine the miracles builds at the gp are going to be a bit harder given they are likely going to try and play rip , thus e-tutor (assuming) making it somewhat easier for them to get counterbalance top

Although I don't think there will be much miracles tbh

The local burn player played swift spear and liked him, although I think he replaces flame rift not gg

GG drawback has never mattered in this deck and still doesn't, a large (and growing) portion of the format plays few (if any) non basics and people know what price of progress does, forcing them to either commit to the board (and risk dying to pop) or not playing there lands and dying due to being unable to execute its strategy

You want lavamancers somewhere, that card is huge against any small creature strategy in addition to winning you the game against elves
