I dunno. Dechs, you wanna go? Or is it better to run a more normal game to keep this forum alive? I could throw something together too, if people are interested. Or try contacting Pie since he is technically next on the list, but I doubt he's going to be up for it since he hasn't been around in forever.

Two weeks from now I'm going on vacation for two weeks, so it's not the best time for me to play or mod anything really...

EDIT: I PM'd Pie. He didn't reply to my prod back in March, but he did read it at least. Who knows.

I just posted over there (from my phone, of course). I'm surprised that WG called this mafia forum a failed experiment when we're still running years later, even if it's not at full steam.

I'm not about to research the problems the mafia community there is having since the site is a pain to navigate by phone, but I of course would welcome new players. It seems to be true that this site and MTGS seem to be the only ones to play mafia in exactly this way. I feel like it's a pretty natural fit for an alternative (I've been happy here), but I guess everyone will have to make their own choice on that. For sure there will be some players who resist the idea just because of this site's history, which is a shame.

In my very first game one of my scum buddies (also his first game) was killed by the mod (his first time modding) for editing his post only 5 minutes later. It was unintentional and completely harmless, so a stern reminder would have been just fine, but the mod just didn't know how to handle it.

So, yeah, good idea to have someone check things out before you overreact. I'm sure you'll do fine though.

Probably won't get a game to start until January, but signs ups could get running. Imopen, care to try it?

Actually, with Christmas coming up, now is probably the worst time to start a new game.

imopen2 if he wants to try it again. We might be better off sticking to smaller games though, especially if we're trying to run two at the same time. I personally don't think this will work either way, but the next 9 player in line is you.

I think rezombad wants to play again since he keeps bugging me. His game got 9 people to signup, and that's including getting a couple out of the woodwork. What's people's comfort level/desire to play in more than one game at once? Do people think we should start a second game at this point?

imopen, do you care if rezmo jumps the line? If you'd like to try for Sons again you can, but I doubt we could get 12 at this point. Up to you.

Looks like rezmo will be up next. You can put up signups once imopen's game starts running or he gives up, whichever comes first. Speaking of which, everyone should join imopen's game. It'll be fun!

If a 12 player game is first in queue, it'll run next no matter what. If a 13 player game is first in queue, it'll run next only if another large game isn't already running. If an 11 player game is next in queue, it'll run next only if another small game isn't already running.

I suppose I may as well contact him now. Even if imopen's game does fire, he'll be up right away regardless.

He was famous for his drug use, so when he suddenly stopped logging on, everyone just sort of assumed. Maybe he's in jail somewhere instead. Maybe he settled in a pleasant Amish community where there are no computers. Who knows.

As a joke. It'll probably be changed back eventually. I guess you never met Onar (Russian Alara on MTGS or... what was his name here? E something...) but he was a tech on this site for a bit and insisted that his name be green because it was important that the mods be distinguishable from the average user (despite all other mods having nothing special about their name). I just randomly got made a mod here in mafia yesterday and insisted that my name be neon green like it was back when I was a Watchdog. Scumbag actually followed through.
