Jeskai's just a weird deck to play and can be draw dependant.

My win rate went up substantially when I dropped Mantis riders for Ascendancies fwiw.

Welcome back MDU.

I've actually started playing modo a lot now, mostly losing money on limited but I did qualify for the PTQ with 1 attempt which is nice.

I plan on getting into standard online soonish.

Talked to Paul Rietzel tonight as he was at my FNM and we had a long conversation about how awful the beta is. It's so bad that he played FNM which hasn't done in ten years because he uninstalled modo.

He's fairly convinced lots of people are getting fired cause it looks like wizards may finally start losing money with people quitting. Magic is a billion dollar industry and half of that is derived from the shitiest program known to man.

Black so hard it's not even funny. Unless I'm missing something, there's nothing compelling about the white while black has literally everything you want; removal, pseudo bombs, CA.

Shipwreck singer, gray merchant, whip, bile blight, asphyxiate, thoughtseize, siren of silent song? Sounds like the nut black pool to me.

If you play twin, play tempo twin. Along with birthing Pod, best deck in the format and despite how complictated it can be to play, Tarmogoyf forgives all misplays.

I'm down to 2, with blinkmoth nexus, an open mountain, and springleaf drum. In my GY there is ray of revelation. The opponent has a gladecover suited up with rancor and a coronet. He swings in and says "GG". I respond by activating nexus, blocking, tapping him with springleaf drum for green, cast ray on rancor, coronet falls off, and the nexus/gladecover trade. He puts "..." in trade. I grind out a few more turns and win the game. He ends with "you're so lucky, I should've won". #dontsayggtooearly[/quote:2jouf34e]

You where incredibly lucky to blow him out with on the board tricks

I don't consider myself anywhere near important enough to think "manipulation" is at play. I just have noticed a pretty steep increase in these kinds of draws since moving back to the beta client. It makes me wonder if something actually is broken. If I ever get back to the regular client, I can start keeping records and see if there is any difference or if it is just in my head and I am on the worst bad luck streak of my life (in game).
I'm not sure if it has a name, but there's a psychological effect where people remember a negative outcome more strongly than a positive
one. I can't remember a recent game where I hit my outs and won, but I sure remember the ones where I bricked and lost.
I know what your talking about but again, the exact term eludes me. Humans definitely have a negative confirmation bias though, that's for shit sure. Poker players especially are the most delusional beings on the planet.

BNG adds a lot to the set. I mean, there are still plenty of games decided by putting creatures on creautres, but now there's more aggro in the format creating very fast paced interactive games.

The key to magic finance is having a general idea of relative card powerlevel(voice of resurgence vs. say, fleecemane lion. Unique affect vs. rehash), potential eternal playability, commander/casual appeal, and "seasons".

Spoiler season, set rotations, and Modern/standard PTQ season are the big ones.

I'd sell everything except death rite and maybe about decay. And socks after course, keep those. Keep your scry lands. The price probably goes up during and soon after the block pro your. Standard cards shouldn't be jumping for a while as ptq season is over so I'd probably unload nightveils and other similar cards.

Agree, most delver decks play 12 creatures, 16 is a stretch. Delver zoo COULD start here though I guess:

4 Delver
4 Wild Nacatl
4 Goyf
2 Snapcaster Mage

That's 14 creatures and I'd look to playing 18/20 lands leaving you at 26/28 spells. Good luck with that manabase.

How good is Chandra against you Kait?
Chandra's good against control if:

A) You're red deck has a viable mid/long game. In devotion red for instance, active Chandra will win the game as I assemble combo pieces and with things like dragon, purphoros, and hammer, I can easily beat multiple sphinx's revelations.

B) You can get a lot of damage out of her either by drawing cards or threatening ult.

Well, based just off the Pro Tour, scapeshift and Tron both seem unplayable.

If I felt liked shelling out some dough, I'd play either Jund or Obliterock. Affinity is also a deck I love, but I know I'd misclick and go on life tilt.
