I'm not that bummed about the tournament. I was at the time but got over it quickly. I'm bummed about unrelated things that I may or may not share in the personal shit thread. Magic is one of tge only good things I have in my life right now.

Thats just it though. I'm one of those bad red players everyone talks about, I just have occasional moments of brilliance / luck lol.

Just Confirming, Lightning_Dolt were you running the Heal's latest version with 10 face burns and 10 flex burns MD or was it the older RDW list?

I'll argue the Burn version is better vs Control and G based decks, while RDW is better vs Twin and Affinity (though both version are fairly decent in these MUs).
Had the more burn oriented list sleeved, but switched to the original at last minute. In hindsight, wish I hadn't.

Won round 7 vs Junk. Actually lost through a T3 Blood Moon because Batterskull is cool. Got there on GG > Eidolon > molten rain > molten rain in G3.

4-3 on the day, not the finish we were looking for, but I know it was because A) inexperienced at modern b) didn't prepare well c) didn't check deck reg carefully d) tilt after game loss e) didn't eat breakfast.

Don't do these things.

The first game he combo'd and got me. The second game molten rain just wrecked him. Game 3 he combo'd drew his 14 cards but only was able to knock me from 16 to 3, I fetched, seared Grisselbrand, bolted him and attacked for lethal.

I didn't test / prepare enough and I accept that. Still not feeling Fanatic, but maybe that's yet to come. Don't think I'll bother with the modern PTQ though since my friends aren't going. Grind pauper on modo and try to prepare for the WMCQ (standard).

Moggs great against mana dork decks, affinity, twin, and zoo style decks.
Did zero work against zoo. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong.

So far I've played UWR control x2, junk mid, BW Tokens and Zoo.

Was not impressed with it in any of those matches.

My experiences with kiki control have been mostly positive.

My experience has been polarizing. Either extremely well or extremely poor. When I approach playing or picking a deck I want consistency if anything. I don't think the deck is the biggest 60 card steaming pile like Zem is suggesting but the deck is pulling in 2 directions that hurt its consistency but I see the power in its interactions.

The thing is I know my play style and kiki control was my attempt to try new territory and branch out but I am not a type of player that sits and reacts
to eventually take control of the match. I like to apply pressure and force my opponent to fumble and capitalize on their screw ups. Hence UWR control in any form is not a deck that suits me. Combo or aggro is where I tend to sit.

I'm not sure if any of you guys watched caleb durward's latest 'banned series' video. In one of the matches he was playing against RDW and he noted that it was Heal's list. Caleb was cool enough to hook it up

Looks like I will be taking RDW to the PTQ in San Diego next month with the way Kiki Control has been panning out. Could just rock affinity or Zoo also.

I was able to jam a half dozen games vs the Rock and that match up seemed about 40/60. Mogg Fanatic seemed pretty underwhelming, but maybe it's just in that match up.
