How many times do I have to say this, Maro said they are never doing another Kamigawa!
[Citation Needed]
One of Maro's podcasts. He said it was the least successful set of all time and people didn't connect with it. He said they will not be going back there, ever.
*in an expert expansion. Kamigawa stuff is fair game for supplemental product.

Just started Attack on Titan. It's the first anime I've watched in 8 years. Thoughts: listening to everything in Japanese is a bit weird, the spastic weather effects are strange, same with the super intense facial expressions, but overall the art style is fantastic and the story rocks.
Man is it heavy,
though. I watched for about three hours, and about two hours later it just hit me how much fucked up shit happened. People getting eaten because larger things think it's fun? That whole thing where they tried to kidnap Mikasa? That shit us not okay.
Attack on Titan is one of the better action/drama anime's to be released in recent years. There's also a lot of subtlety, where if you pay attention/think about what's happening you can tell there's more going on than it initially leads on.

Drafted a pretty sick Rw heroic deck last night but went 1-2.

First round i play against one of the best players at the store and he has this ridiculous Uw deck because he was next to complete idiots that passed him ridiculous shit all draft

second round i lost to godsend, because it's a fair magic card

third round a stomped a slow UB control deck

oh well, better luck next week

drafting Journey/BNG/Theros for the first time tonight, any tips/archetypes to watch out for? I'm a decent drafter (i usually do fairly well where i play but the people there are generally terrible so i doubt i'm actually any good. i just know how to play and no one ever plays red, so i get to play OP red decks half the time)

You can't tell me Animals as Leaders isn't at least slightly over-the-top.
If the guy can play that well (and still write real music, looking at you Dream Theater) then there's no reason for him not to

I'm not saying the next set is going to be the next Alara or anything, it just strikes me as odd to print something like that in a set that's supposed to segue into a less multicolor focused block.

@ Calamity - Don't disagree with you at all...Chandra is indeed harder to keep alive as I said. The fact that Keranos can flat-out kill things or your opponent once he's established on the board in addition to drawing cards is nuts.
I was trying to say that the strategy wasn't being run because Chandra doesn't fit that role and Keranos might be strong enough to make it happen, not because it's intrinsically bad in this environment (says the guy that isn't following standard at all lol).

...so yeah we're basically agreeing

Keranos is slow, but he is designed appropriate to his colors...he offers card advantage and VCA/damage, but with the red "randomness" of relying on the topdeck. It's actually a strong set of effects in combination with a scry-heavy deck design; if you can control your top card before the reveal, then you get to choose drawing an extra card or delivering a bolt nearly every turn. But at 5CMC he doesn't get going until T6, so you would have to be controlling the board in order to put him to use. I want to like him in a Grixis shell given all the low-cost removal and burn, but the lack of a full-on black sweeper by T4 weakens the plan. UWR will therefore be the likely call, with counters, bounce and burn into Verdict, then Keranos to run away with CA.
But arguably one could play the same strategy with Chandra and it's not being done (though she's a lot easier to remove than a god at present), so the overall viability of such a strategy in the current meta is debatable.
Chandra is WAAAAAY shittier with counterspells than keranos, she's also hard to protect in a control shell, and her +1 basically isn't useful, and you never ever want to tap out for her since the most she'll do in a control deck the turn she comes down is kill an x/1

Yo.
Quick report.
So for 2-3 weeks I was kinda homeless. Most of time I've stayed at my girlfriend's apartment so it wasn't that bad (except of the situations when you ask your girlfriend during her PMS to leave a room for a moment so you can masturbate) aand I've managed to find a new flat close to her which is cool. Lack of internet in that place on the other hand - not. I gotta find some kind of cheap provider as my housemates don't need that (they have this fancy LTE shit).
Didn't got the job as QA in GOG.com . Shit happens.
On the other hand I got a raise at my job.
Aaaaand I'm kinda creating a new game project. This time, small scale - just with one close friend who has shitload of money and is a programming genius. Oh, and he never gave up on me. We're
most probably gonna create mobile/IndiePC game. And it's gonna be cool as fuck.

Didn't got back into MTG at all but I hope that doesn't make me not cool enough to hang out with ya guys.

So yeeeah, long time no see redbros.

PS. Kill la Kill is cool. Check it.
seconding that about Kill La Kill

Legacy Guys: Is Pox any good in legacy? I traded my standard stuff in paper for a playset of Liliana of the Veil's for 8Rack in modern and now I want to play the damn things in every deck I build now. It seemed like I could build a decently competitive pox build for local play relatively cheaply if I have the Liliana's already

Attack on Titan could be decent in english. (operative term is could)

Kill la Kill! however, would be awful dubbed (only 7 episodes in currently)

Yeah for 8rack i'm hesiatant to get bitterblossoms for it since I think Waste Not could be better in that slot (obviously would require testing) since it can accelerate your mana, draw you cards, AND get you dudes (though you can only get dudes against creature decks) and they don't fly.

Plus bitterblossom is still like 60 bucks

They would have to be printed in main expansion (i.e a shitload) in order for their price to be dented at all. The earliest that can happen (though i find it unlikely) is this Fall when RtR rotates out, though who knows if Wizards foresaw/cares about the fetches being as ridiculously priced as they are.

I'm guessing a reprint in a main expansion would make them go down to a reasonable price but who knows

As for me, I'm probably going to ditch my fetches now (i'd more than double my money) and just play EDH or switch to Netrunner. I barely play modern nowadays anyway. Either that or get some Liliana of the Veil's and try playing some 8Rack... that shit is going to be ridiculous with Waste Not

Drafting requires a lot of intuition (I might just be saying that because I'm an intuitive person and usually do quite well where I draft. Not saying I'm good by any stretch, but one of the best draft players where I am) and the right picks are completely situational. Most people want an easy flowchart and/or don't think, which is why they're bad at drafting.

I'm pleased at the price trajectory of the fetches, being that I own 4 tarns, 2 mistys, 4 mesas, and a lone marsh flats. It'll only get crazier during PTQ season.

I'm 13 episodes into Attack on Titan and I'll say it's not bad. There's some stuff that doesn't make sense to me about the Titans (why doesn't blowing their head off kill them but slicing the back of their neck does? how do they function without eating?) but I have some theories about them (as opposed to being anime bullshit)
