Maybe Keening Apparition is a possible side? You still have a creature and can sac it if you need to get rid of BlOb or whatever. Against any deck that can remove it, we are just going to hold it until we need something dead. Better off going with the card that is either cheaper or can hit multiple...

My meta says that I need Firedancers in at least 3 of those slots. Decks like GW and Naya have taken off here. Against control, we may want to move back to Pyromaster to have something more durable. Wear/Tear can get us past BlOb and DSphere. I can't really think of anything else that would have the...

@Kait: you mention your going too play Elder Scrolls - would you recommend that MMO to anyone? I haven't played an MMO since EVE. A fellow victim of Spreadsheets in Space! Nice. ESO is nice and I am considering it myself. I just worry about all the unresolved bugs that have been in all the beta tes...

-3 Lavamancers, +3 Pyroblast for Invi... Thoughts? That is going rather deep, giving up some staying power to have a possible advantage in game 1. It is true that Brainstorm will be everywhere at the invitational but I don't think that is a direction we want to go. How many decks would you really p...

You are missing the fact that all your opponent can afford to do with Jace is +1 it if you are making tokens. The moment he -2s, it, or possibly your opponent, will die next turn.

Soul Sisters is a nearly impossible fight for us. Rain of Gore works very well but that is about the only deck I would bring it in against (maybe Pod) and that makes it not really worth the slots.

Tarns are indeed going that high. Thankfully, Wooded Foothills and Bloodstained Mire are Legacy legal and less than half that price. Those foreign bridges are worth a good bit.

The first 2-3 turns, I tend to play fast, going through my spell progression. Once I have him lower, I start playing on his turn as much as I can to bottleneck, especially if I have creatures doing a bit of the lifting. If you don't put any pressure on your opponent, he has no reason to tap out and ...

Actually, creatures are essential to the Dredge fight. Killing off your own is the only way to get Bridge out of their graveyard if you haven't found your graveyard hate. Losing T1 is just something that happens from time to time though.

Viashino is still one of our best options against decks like MonoB and control. Against black, best options are just the rest of the chains, BlOb, and Firstblade. I used to like Firedancer against them but my local opponents have wised up to that plan and kill it on sight.

Apparition is very clunky. Being a creature is sometimes useful to get out early but most decks that have enchantments we need to kill can simply throw a removal spell at it before they drop said enchantment. Revoke kills gods but otherwise, I think Wear/Tear is our best option since it kills enchan...

I don't think green is where we want to be. It does give us a weapon against a difficult fringe matchup (bogles) and an option for enchantment/artifact removal. I don't think we want to move toward Abrupt Decay since, goyf aside, we can easily deal with any creature that Decay hits with our current ...

Blood? Not really, too many 3 toughness creatures. Searing Blaze, however, is excellent. As far as a deck list goes, do you want Rb or Rbw? I wouldn't. We are pretty well set up to win game 1 vs the fair(er) decks, Miracles is always going to suck, and our only defense to an early Sneak and Show is Ensnaring Bridge which we don't want main.

I would say that looks pretty solid. I still think that 21 land is too much but I bow to those who play versions with fetchlands and to tournament results. My only suggestion may be drop one land, go to 10/10 and add the 4th vortex, but test before committing.

When a card is such a beating against most of your meta, it is hard to say you can get "too reliant" on it. You can win without it but the matches get much easier when you resolve one. I would consider a 4th if you really face that many decks where it is that good.

What would you use in place of the guildgates that would give us the colored mana that we require?
