Don't use the beta
Seriously, that is when my problems started. I know somebody needs to test it but don't play your events on it.

I don't consider myself anywhere near important enough to think "manipulation" is at play. I just have noticed a pretty steep increase in these kinds of draws since moving back to the beta client. It makes me wonder if something actually is broken. If I ever get back to the regular client,...

Of course it will slightly reduce the chances of drawing land as it removes one from your deck. The key word is "slightly", not worth using just for the thinning alone. You are completely correct about how much it helps Searing Blaze and Lavamancer though. Try to bump to 8 fetches if you c...

Officially giving up on MTGO until the game decides to give me playable games. 0-2 another daily, making 9+ straight land drops the first match and keeping excellent 2 land hands in the second while drawing only Phoenixes and Helixes. I can't afford to scrub out every event due to shit like this. h...

I like having it to fight True-Name Nemesis, High Tide and sometimes Painter. I wouldn't call it anywhere near required though. I likely keep it in my sideboard out of habit more than anything.

It is a full turn slower than burn even before the hate. I fear no Living End. It will catch a few people by surprise though.

I think that was a meta call. If you know you will face a lot of creature decks, it might be better to "pre-board" in the Blazes and take out the Flame Rifts. In a more open meta, I wouldn't want to risk drawing blanks when we still have enough spells that can hit creatures to get through ...

I would imagine he is on quite the warpath since the servers were down yesterday. I don't blame you for stepping aside and letting him through. I need to go on quite a tear (and avoid playing against any more hexproof) if I am going to qualify this season. Variance hasn't been on my side this month.

Wow, we are busy even when Wizards forgets to feed the hamster. YP is always an intriguing option. To me, the only reasons that Firedrinker is viable is because it is a 1-drop and can swing through Caryatids with 2 mana up. Other than that, I am not high on the card so viable alternatives are welcom...

Sometimes you just have to kill your own Guide. Clearing the board against an Elves, D&T, or BUG player can turn around a race you are behind in.

Both are excellent. Pyrostatic is probably a bit better since it is less vulnerable to discard spells.

Edit: First set of sideboard suggestions in place. Will happily consider any further input given the permutations of our decks.

A lot of Legacy players only have one or two decks, so they stick with what they know. At an event like an Invitational, the big decks to be prepared for are Delver, Stoneblade, Sneak and Show, Elves, Dredge, Miracles and Storm/ANT. As I was thinking about it, I cannot give a strict sideboard strate...

Just remember that some decks like RUG and BUG delver have next to no basics. Price is gold in those matchups either as big damage or as a double Stone Rain as they Wasteland their own lands.

I wouldn't bother with Bridge against things like Stoneblade or Dredge. We can usually race them or need other hate anyway. I tend to board out Price faster than Flame Rift if I see my opponent grabbing basics. I also pull out Guide vs Lands. I only ever consider pulling Flame Rift if I think I will...

I bring out my Price of Progress against them most of the time since most have learned to grab basics to handle that and Wasteland.

Smashing the equipment does work. I just like redundancy.

I would count on seeing a number of True-Name Nemesis. The only thing we have that can stop one is a Pyroblast/REB to counter it. It is entirely possible for us to race it but if it gets equipped, it is nigh unbeatable.

Went 4-0 and won my third straight FNM with the deck. People are starting to cringe when pairings are announced. A lot more W/WB Weenie/Enchantment showing up, which is a rough matchup but not unwinnable.

I don't think lifegain is prevalent enough for it to be necessary. Sulfuric Vortex should handle what little lifegain there is in the format. If you are looking into replacing them, look into what cards you seem to be sideboarding in the most. Maybe something like Pyrostatic Pillar since everyone pl...

You can beat either one on their own if you finish them quickly, especially with BlOb out. When both are out, the problem is insurmountable.
