The deck really doesn't want Alex, since you're dealing some face damage over the course of the first turns anyway and tapping out for a health boost won't ever save you. I would rather have ysera than chromaggus, but it doesn't matter too much since our overall card quality is very high so they'll both take over games. The biggest difference is that you get a card out of ysera even if you don't get to untap with her.
