I have beenn takign a break but with the meta shifts I am not sure what deck to run. Mono-red is fun since with the mana base everyone else runs you get to take advantage of stumbles. But I am eyeing Dos Rakis as well since Aristrocrat and Chandra's Phoenix is fun. Any thoughts?

What is amusing is that the two threads were archived and both are still sticky in the standard/archive.

A moments silence for the Rx Aggro subforum, once the greatest forum on mtgs, now a cesspool of stupidity like any other.

You will be missed.
It is quite sad really.

One of the things I like about this deck is the fear my open mana puts into my opponent. It is quite a bit of fun.

My Rhox Faithmender problem was resolved at the game store last night. I traded 2 of the 12 boros reckoners I had for a playset of Faithmenders. All of those pre-releases were good for something. :)

I ran this last night. I fumbled a bit vs aggro but I destroyed the bant decks and I played and also beat jund midrange. I didn't have Rhox Faithmender(s) though so I couldn't bring him in on game2/3. Overall I did well considering I put the deck together 30 minutes before FNM. I improved as the nig...

In Gruul Bloodrush decks I would play the Goblin. That little extra butt means you can swing in with a x/1 with an Auger of Bolas or other 1/x on the field and not worry about losing the exchange. A LM can swing into a Rhox Faithmender for instance. It is obviously slower than Stonewright but it is ...

I prefer Dryad Militant to Young Wolf. It evolves Experiment One, it messes with snapcaster.dec and annoys rites. I think it is a better maindeck.

I picked up my playset of exava and Valroz, the Scar-Striped today. There is some interesting synergy going on that makes me think Jund Aggro will be pretty nuts. I also ordered a playset of vexing devil. I always liked the art and Valroz makes that card useful. BTE is key since it is mana fixing as...

So after playing around with this variant I found a lack of hasty bodies. My other build had ash zealot, flinthoof boar, LM, Legion Loyalist and 3 hellriders. This build has only the zealots, lm and loyalists. I lost 7 bodies with haste. I strongly feel the lack and the deck is slower because of it....

I love this deck. Mono-Red is a nice and reliable land base. I ran something similar to this last Friday. I had been in a Jury all week and away from the net. My local FNM was 2HG and Modern the two previous weeks and so I was alone. I had every card listed in the first post in front of me when I wa...

I find it odd that Legions battalion allowed you to 1-for-1 reckoner. Your opponents probably misplayed. If say you attack with Legion Loyalist, BTE and Flinterhoof Boar, I can block BTE, trigger the first strike damage at loyalist, and then have reckoner kill BTE in combat causing you to 0-for-2 y...

Recently I ran a 20 land R/g aggro deck that I was experimenting with, all land produced red mana and I ran the 8 R/G lands. The curve topped at 3 hellriders and I ran 0 boros reckoners. The SB had my pyreheart wolves and I ran 3 legion loyalists to bump up one drops to 11. My only green mana used i...
