Haven't read this page. I think I missed a page a few back too. I don't see why I should claim. If kpaca wants to vig me, he can, but it's a mistake. He certainly should vig SOMEONE to clear himself, though I'm pretty sure it was just a gambit.

I suppose there's a nice middle ground where you politely listen to us first, and then still make the decision on your own unilaterally instead of agreeing to be bound by the town's lynch decision.

Not much of a middle ground in my estimation, though. The process of reaching a 2nd lynch is intrinsically more useful to the town.

Aside from the likelihood of the town as a whole coming to a better
decision than any single person, using vig-shots as a second lynch A) produces far more information regarding a far wider range of players, and B) Moves the town agenda/research queue forward more rapidly - because if a majority of players are "stuck" on a particular wagon, they can be remobilized to research in new and different places.

I don't know what advantage you expect to gain from making the decision on your own. Unless you're more interested in having the fun of making the choice on your own, or you think our own judgment is that much better than the other players, and you don't care about any of the informational and research benefits of converting your vig into a lynch, I don't see the sense in this.
