I don't believe there's anything you can do to improve the bloom match up especially when the bloom player is good with his deck.

how do we feel about stony silence? heading into states, you can expect to face hella affinity.


also, almost all grixis decks are boarding in vampiric link now. how would you board with that 75 vs grixis control?

Been grinding a bunch of modern decks the past month, and have found one i really enjoy. Grixis Delver. However, I can not bring myself to buy scalding tarns or the last two snaps I need, so I am going to be playing burn for modern states.

I don't get how skullcrack is better. The guy who topped 8, arya, is a local player who is always on red with me. He swears by 19 lands

You could message him on Facebook, he's been pretty responsive to me before. Also his modo name is Big Dan Teague, so you could probably catch him on there as well.

I'll shoot him a message on Twitter and see if he adds anything.

I too have the list together since he posted it and I liked it so far in my testing. Mutagenic growth is pretty sweet

Basically have 1 extra sb slot. It could either be a 3rd path, 1 searing blood, 1 fire craft, 1 leyline of punishment, or 1 blood moon

Not sure, might just take out eidolons for Firewalker on both play and draw. Some numbers of paths, I like that skullcrack can help counter helix if necessary

Side in skullcrack vs the mirror?

Should I always jam eidolon on two if they have 1 blue up? The risk seems worth the reward

Based on what ive been hearing, the big 4 decks I would like to gun for are grixis control/twin, affinity and jund. Would love some help crafting a 75.

Your sb seems really geared towards beating affinity? If I had to guess a meta, I would say grixis control, delver and twin decks, affinity will be popular. I'll get more details tomorrow about what else I think I'll face.

I like no molten rains. Have you seen tech from modo sashing 1 blood crypt for self inflicted wound in the sb?

Ended up 3-1 last night in the daily. Lost 0-2 Abzan, Beat 8rack 2-0, Storm 2-1 (should have been 2-0, I learned that you should just always jam Eidolon), and then Grixis Twin 2-1.


So 20 lands vs 19 seems marginal. That I think I will go back down and stick with 19.

I have also disliked atarkas command, it puts color restrictions on me game 1. Too many times I have had to fetch for stomping ground, only to draw a boros charm, or the other way around. My goal is to create the best G1 deck, so I will just have 4 skullcrack, and 2 lightning helix.

I still want access to two stomping grounds though.

I fell into the trap of boarding in too many reactive cards vs twin, but was still able to pull out the win.

SB might look something like this:

Promptly lost to abzan 0-2..drew too many lands.

After keeping two 1 landers and not getting there, I am going up to 20 lands and 3 molten rains for the 8pm daily

My issue is that if you don't have it in your opener, its a dead draw after turn 4 vs most decks. is it really that good vs bloom? They can typically replace the lands pretty easy, I have found my losses to Amulet are because of radiant fountain and vesuva the same turn.

Someone sell molten rain in the SB to me.

I like the idea of 1 volley specifically for uncounterable. Question would I run into more matchups at the GP where id I like a board wipe, or anti-lifegain?

I am cutting the rending volley for path, just seems better in every matchup.

What decks play Leyline? Do I snap bring Des Rev in G2 against those decks? What if you lose G1...do you bring it in just incase not to lose to it in g2?

Was running back through old burn articles and saw this: "Searing Blaze targets both player and creature, which means there’s no way to stop the damage once the spell is cast. It’s possible to quadruple Searing Blaze a 1/1 to deal 12 damage to them."

I feel like I want to create the best possible G1 deck. (which probably includes 2 shard volleys).

Then have a SB of: 3 path, 4 Dest Rev, 3 Firewalker, 2 Defelcting Palm and other slots.

I feel like the flex slots are 1-2 shard volley, 3-4 searing blaze, 4-6 skullcrack effects, and 0-2 lightning helix.

I would say yes for the most part. But cards like firewalker or spell bomb. Molten rain even...

I have also been losing games keeping 1 landers, granted I am on 19, maybe I should go to 20.

I went 0-2. Lost a close one to abzan splashing blue for ojutais command, and then in round 2 i was drunk and not paying attention. Trying not to fall into the trap of building my deck for modo, but instead for the gp.

All my prep is for GP CHarlotte. That being said, I feel like I have to have 4 Firewalker and 4 Destructive Rev in my sb, to help hedge with what might be popular matchups.

Is mulling until you hit a fire walker a viable strategy for the mirror?

Also, do you snap sideboard in 4 reverlry vs amulet combo?
