I get I went off the deep end back there, I had already forgotten about the shitty local rappers comment and apparently had laid my point too deep within sarcasm for it to get out, I've already said "my bad" on that oneCheckbox jeez
Not shutting up when told you're a shitposter is one thing (as I did the same thing myself when I first got into the gutter) but incessantly arguing for the sake of arguing is the real reason people think you're a tool. I mean pick and choose your battles, man!

I understand, I got very ahead of myself because I have very strong anti-live-metallica opinionsThisthere is no way metallica is the best show you've ever seenIve seen so many concerts it would be douchey to list them all.
I think the best was Metallica in New Orleans on the death magnetic tour, or lil wayne at voodoo fest.
Also NIN was awesome.
I only see metal shows, so either metallica is the only metal show you've ever seen or you only see metallica, lil wayne and shitty local rappers
was how you set this off
although my first guess was right, I didn't see another metal band on that list (what genre is NIN? I don't even know)
just from what I've seen, they are bad compared to other metal bands I have seen live, so I am always surprised when someone says they enjoyed a metallica live show, let alone it was their favorite show they've seen

like I'll have an actual discussion if you want, kpaca
all I was trying to say is that compared to other metal bands, metallica's live performances are thought to be not so great (not just by me, this is a general consensus I've gotten from many people I've talked to about this). your viewpoint from outside the metal community is quite different than mine, and as such you are probably looking for different things in a show than I would be, so its very possible that Metallica is more appealing to you than to me for various reasons

you haven't actually brought up a single argument pointI'm not arguing with you anymore retard.your arguments are so well articulated, boynShut the fuck up.I actually really enjoy a lot of their music. As far as studio music goes, they are in my top 5 probably.Says a guy who's never seen them live, and clearly doesnt care for them to begin with.I never said metallica wasn't the best show you've ever seen, I said they are bad in comparison to bands A, B and C that I've seen. This means nothing compared to Bands D, E, F, ... X, Y and Z that you've seen. But if Metallica is truly the best show you've seen, I really want you to see a real metal show
Shut the fuck up.
Is your entire argument just that I've never seen them live, so I can't know how they are live? I've seen shows live and DVDs from those same bands, so I can make reasonable extrapolations from not only footage of Metallica's live concerts but also testimony from hardcore Metallica fans I know. I may just be straight wrong, but I think my opinions are reasonable given the evidence I have
and yes, paramore is quite pop-y. Like I said, not my favorite

Metallica just doesn't compare live to any other metal band, so if you saw a real metal band, they would blow Metallica out of the water is what I'm trying to say

How is this even a question? They are two completely different bands playing two completely different types of music. Metallica is heavy metal (with thrash influences/tendencies in the early days, pop/rock influences in the 90's and have gone back to traditional metal style recently, and we won't talk about St. Anger)HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU LIKE METALLICA AND NOT AC/DC
AC/DC is completely pop/rock style rock music, which I cannot stand. Their songwriting is lazy, even if it is catchy and mass-appealing. I have the same problem with them as I do most of the "popular bands" from that era; Poison, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, etc.

mainly; when you go to an Iron Maiden show, you are sharing in a mutual experience not only with the band, but with the thousands of other fans there who all have an amazing respect for, again, not only the band but each other as well. Everyone is there to enjoy the music and just revel in the performance, and this is added to greatly when the band is extremely professional and respectful to the music and the fans.
When you go to a Metallica show, you are a consumer who is there to watch some guys jam around with their songs how they want because fuck you they are American rock stars and they'll do what they want, musical integrity be damned and also our singer is 14 and saying "yeah" and grunting all the time makes our music better.

It makes sense when I see that list; there are no other metal bands on there, so I can understand you taking to a Metallica live performance (I can say nothing about the other bands, many/most of them are not my cup of tea). I'm sure their shows are "cool" for people who aren't metal fans; hell, I'd probably enjoy a Metallica concert if I went to one. But when I compare them to even the few shows I've been to (4x Iron Maiden, 2x Judas Priest, 1x Iced Earth, 1x Paramore) they just fail to compete by every possible metric. They just make a lot of artistic sacrifices in their live performances (mainly James) that, for someoneSo no, you've never seen them live. Lemme start is rant by prefacing it with you area huge fucking twat and no wonder you are always trying to get us to hang out with you and watch a shitty movie in lieu of getting a real life.I've watched so many of their taped live performances; I'So you've never seen them? So help me god if the answer to this question is no.aka metallica is shit live nowadays, they were insane in the 80's though (says the person born early 90's)
ve seen much of their recent live stuff including the livestreamed concert they did at Download a few years ago or whatever the event was (was it their large festival?)
they are shit, and you should feel bad for enjoying their live performances. What other metal bands have you seen live to compare them to?
Are they even a metal band? Cause none I don't guess. I saw the sword. I also saw The Mars Volta. I don't think of either of them as metal but to me Metallica wasn't all that metal either, but please educate me with your great musical knowledge of concerts youve never actually seen live. For reference, I have a DVD of Rush live. It's okay to say the best. Their live show? Waaay better than the dvd. Did I say metallica was my fave band? No.
Did I say they were a great metal band? No. Were they the best show I've ever seen for the night I was there, 4th row, on Kirk Hammet's side of the stage, in New Orleans, in 2009? Absofucking lutely you twit. I'm not comparing their performance to "the other metal bands ive seen" either you shallow thinking plebe. I'm comparing them to allthe concerts I've seen period, of course I wouldn't expect you to decipher that from context because you read through a brain full of aspergers.
Here is a list of all the concerts I've seen (live and in person, not herf derf my opinion is from a dvd im a metal snobbing cunt) that I am comparing them to, I've seen so many concerts I'll probably forget at least one band. Most of them are shitty local rappers obv:
In no particular order:
Meatloaf
Garth Brooks
AC/DC (twice)
Trans Siberian Orchestra (twice)
Lil Wayne (twice)
Zz Top (thrice you cunt)
Aerosmith (worst concert for sure)
The kenny Wayne Shepard Band
B.B. King
The Mars Volta
nNine Inch Nails
Keri Hilson
Elton John
Rick Ross
Wiz Khalifa
Yelawolf
Metallica
Rush
Wyclef Jean
And probably some shit I'll remember later.
So fuck you, my favorite artists out of those is Sir Elton, Rush, and Weezy, but regardless they weren't as good live as this metallica show I went to. Kindly go fuck yourself you piece of excrement.
who actually likes to enjoy the music at a concert, detracts from the experience quite a bit. My main issue with them is that they are a garage band with good production quality; they (James) never matured into actual adult performers. He still grunts and says "yeah!" way too fucking much because, like a 14-year old with a guitar in his basement, he thinks it makes him look/sound/feel "cool" and fit in and be a rock star. There's no musical integrity behind a Metallica performance; A "Metallica Show" is just 4 dudes up there shitting around on thier instruments, playing some of their songs because they are cool and they can (which I guess is the environment/feeling they want or used to want). An "Iron Maiden" show, on the other hand, gives off an entirely different feeling of professionalism with respect to not only the music, but also just general on-stage behavior; their showmanship is on an entirely different level such that I just can't respect bands like
Metallica in that way, even if I would probably enjoy their shows.
Also, if you don't consider Metallica a metal band, what would you consider them?

like I have a friend who is as big a Metallica fan as I am an Iron Maiden fan (not that that means much to any of you as you do now know me IRL, but the point is he has the hugest hard-on for the band in general) and he agrees that they have just declined a lot in their live performances since like the 90's
