Well, i can't predict how much impact piledriver will have on the decks performances. What i know is that this deck was pretty good also before piledriver because, basically, it features the very effective gameplan of just killing the opponent as soon as possible. If burn is good, then also goblins ...

Guys, rejoice, piledriver joined our crew in modern ! If i have to be totally honest, I don't feel like he will make this deck tier one or anything. I have a little problem with him being a two drop that doesn't do anything relevant immediately. All the two drops i was playing before either had hast...

Yes, yes, i know 21 lands is technically the correct number. He has 3 vortexes, 4 fireblasts, lavamancers and blazes postboard, and in legacy playing around daze and pierce is very important. it is just my gut feeling that would make me play 20 .... i would have an irrational fear of flooding too mu...

I hate merfolk, it is just winnable if you are on the play and have a fast start with a couple creatures. Otherwise spreading seas, cursecatcher, tidebinder mage, random counterspells or even monastery siege just ruin your day. I feel like everything has to go perfect to win against them. Yes, i boa...

Has applications against collected company, chord of calling, goryo's vengeance, through the breach .... and for sure other fringe stuff i don't remember. Still it is a very narrow card, at most you can play it as a 2-of in sideboard

That list is very good right now because when two of the top tier decks are omnitell and miracles you really don't want to have searing blazes or grim lavamancers maindeck.
The only thing i disagree with a bit is 21 lands .... it feels just too safe.

Sylvan Messenger is a straight reprint from apocalypse, they didn't rename it. Unfortunately Goblin Piledriver is number 151, and card number 152 is Infectious bloodlust. So, given that they are numbered in alphabetical order (they are, right ? ) , Ringleader should npt be a possibility, while lacke...

I never have access to the full 8 searing effects in the 75. They can just be clunky at times and you need space in sideboard for other things. I like having 6 though, and usually i have all 6 in my deck against the mirror post side. I know sometimes they may have no creature to target, but the mirr...

Waiting to play eidolon is not the way to go. In my experience the match is decided in grixis favor by dragon's claw or a very early tasigur. If neither of them happens, burn wins easy.
Also if you fear grixis delver start playing searing blood in your board, it is amazing against delver/pyromancer/snapcaster decks

You can't argue that playing 3 colors rather than 2 is not a cost. The cost is taking an average of 6 damages from your lands (fetch + untapped shockland) every game, or slow down your gameplan by fetching tapped shocklands, not to mention that sometimes you could be color screwed. I agree that atar...
