Spellheart Chimaera only resolved once, and it ate a doom blade. No idea how it actually performs. I think it mostly eats doom blades, so that's about right. Flames of the Firebrand for weenies? And anger of course for necromancer/atheros decks but I am not sure it's practical to have both that and...

One Ram is just a little annoying.. I mean a 0/5 is only going to block YP or a token. but we have to either 2 for 1 it, chain it, or banish it. And it's only CMC2 so only chains tempo-favorable. Ignoring it means you have to go from ~7 burn spells to 10. So that's about 2 more turns assuming we don...

Titan's Strength is bad in the same way Chained to the Rocks is bad (because it's sometimes dead or can lead to a 2-for-1). Or young pyromancer with no shock/jet back up is bad. It's actually slightly less hassle to lava spike them off of a token or pheonix than it is to get a YP out with a backup. ...

My first test was with the Thaumaturge (and curse of the swine with X=infinity). I found that he was like a worse goblin electromancer except in rare instances. I have almost abandoned this list. Hour of Need is very amusing but not a real card. Turn // Burn is waaaay to slow in a deck that wants to...

I, too find chandra really hard to play vs. control. 4 mana for "deal 1 damage and target opponent discards one removal spell" is pretty blah. Maybe I should save her until 6-7 mana so I have a chance of getting something off the +0, I don't see Titan's Strength being THAT MUCH WORSE than ...

Chained still seems the best demon defense. Tempo is still tempo. I have a buddy here who swears by threatens in Red decks.... maybe beating them with their own demon is worthwhile.
I absolutely want to play burning earth if the meta shifts to 22 basics each (which would also mean less monu-blue)

yes but those BW humans and AIR don't run anything with toughness higher than 3... Or if they did it would be some kind of big bomb that's pro white or pro sorcery speed anyway. What I was trying to say was NOT that BL is a bad card for burn (perhaps even Main deckable) but that it might not be good...

I think there will be an AIR heroic deck as well, if for no other reason it's actually faster than BW humans, and doesn't care about atheros. I honestly have no idea how those decks do against Control/MBD/MUD which still dominate the meta. Banishing light doesn't seem ideal against decks running all...

Wipeout has it correct. On the subject of who is the beatdown in Burn vs. MBD. It's interesting that my snap answer was that we were the beat down, but I counted threats and wrote the opposite. [strike]I think the issue with anger / no anger is that 1 for 1'ing CMC 1 spells with CMC 2 spells is bad for the old tempo. Most aggro decks this cycle of standard were not running 12-16 1 drops or even the "Optimal Aggro" 10 1 drops. As long as they are casting 2 drops you are fine. If t...

1-2 mutavaults isn't awful. I won't go back to 0. I forgot about electrickery. That is exactly what my Izzet-Pyro build needs. Against what decks? Are we really going to play 8 O-ring equivalents? We just drop Chains right? (doesn't hit non-creatures, gets hit by peak eruption). Or maybe 3-2 split?

I have some concerns on how we can beat decks with 12-16 2-power 1 drops without Anger of the Gods. There is FotFB into Chandra I suppose.
