My list hasn't changed much with UB or rogue blue-based control decks being the hardest matchup. Any attempt to increase the win rate game 1 hurts my other matchups so it's a necessary sacrifice and just hope to win game 2 and 3. [deck] Creatures 3 Seeker of the Way 4 Goblin Rabblemaster 4 Butcher o...

No need to cast it. Attack, he charms your first one. Just cast the second after. Force him to answer your threats during his turn.

Mardu is picking up a lot of steam here in our local meta. MD Anger of the Gods is also good in my matches so far.

To quote Brad Nelson: " Wingmate Roc ended up underperforming. It was nice to have sometimes, but it never won me a game I wasn't already winning. It did become a very lackluster spell in some games that I almost always lost. Sarkan, the Dragonspeaker overperformed, however, making it the five...

I've been using Roc myself for the past couple of weeks and getting results. Yes, you get awkward situations where you can't trigger raid, but during those times you are mostly on the losing side anyway. SBD usually can't turn a losing game around while Roc usually does it. If your local meta is hea...

While Jeskai is less popular these days, there are guys like Fleecemane Lion and Raksasha Deathdealer. 4 Lightning Strike is the way to go. I'd personally cut 1 Sorin in your list for the fourth.

Local meta call? I might also put some erases on the side now that I see a lot more constellation lists in our meta. They are very annoying to deal with.

I have to add that proper communication is key to avoid these misunderstandings. Whenever I come across this scenario, I will always confirm with the opponent when he is trying to cast the kill spell. Me: Ok, moving to combat/declare attackers. Him: I'll kill your Rabblemaster first. Me: When are yo...

If you're playing at competitive REL, I will assume you know the rules and any issue you raise will have to fall on the judge's ears. Also, it's only scummy if you're confusing your opponent. As long as you communicate clearly what you're going to do, the judge will be always on your side (and have ...

Once your opponent does something, the shortcut is null and void and you play on from that point as though the shortcut was never declared. I'll quote you on this in the future if there is an argument. However, I won't say it to that particular person I'm discussing with because he has this idea of...

You aren't wrong, Christen. If one player requests a shortcut and the other takes an action, the first is not required to continue passing priority. The game state has changed and may be reevaluated. What cannot be done is suggesting a shortcut, the opponent agreeing, and then trying to back out of...

3-3 on my GPT today but that's supposedly a 4-2 if I didn't have misplays on a certain match.

I would only keep a 2 lander if I have Magma Jet or 2-3 two drops. If I mulled to 5 or 6, I'd keep a 2 lander if I have a two drop that is not Lightning Strike.

I haven't lost to either of those decks
UB needs a competent player, and GB isn't too prevalent in the meta. Try playing around 10 proper games on each of those decks with a proper list with good players and you'll see where we're coming from.

I've playtested last night with this deck's bad matchups and boy they are reaally bad matchups. - UB is a race on you dealing 20 first and them stabilizing first. My wins were usually on the back of unanswered Seekers, Rabblemasters, or Outbursts. Post-board, we can't side out our creatures, but the...

Chain and Doom. I haven't had trouble with Ensoul decks and they come up pretty regularly. There will be times you'll be caught without an answer, but that's just Magic being Magic.

Fair enough. I guess it's just a different deck then, basically Brad Nelson's RW aggro splashing Black for Cackling Doom and Butcher, which may still be worth it or not. I find that you're splashing more for Crackling Doom because that card is the best card in this deck in my opinion. We're abusing...

It's looking to be as healthy as INN-RTR standard, and that was because it had access to superb mana-fixing. Our mana-fixing this season is still shit compared to it, but I also think that's one of the reasons we can't just run 4-color decks and still dominate.

If you're going to run Swiftspear, you're better off running the RW shell which is more consistent in dropping the turn 1 threat. Swiftspear is lackluster in the midgame.

Find a card what can beat Hordeling Outburst and you shouldn't have much problems. This can be from Arc Lightning to Anger of the Gods.
