I would have no problem following her in any place, problem is that in italy right now is almost impossible finding a job even of the worst ... unless you are favoured by someone. We should probably consider expatriating but you know is not a simple choice. And i'm not so sure anymore she has the same feelings as me .... i will see how it goes and think about it.... in the worst case, prehemptive spurn and cock slapping (right to left, yeah) seem good moves
thanks for the support anyway

Well, i see this thread as the WC where i can throw all my shit.posting about intimate relationship problems on the internet has like a 99% success rate of resolving said problems.
And there is actually the possibility that some of you want to become my new boyfriend, that would help forgetting every problem.

Legacy was a pretty good format until they decided to ruin everything printing the best creatures ever in blue : delver of secrets and true name nemesis. If the color that features brainstorm and force of will also has access to the best creatures there is no reason not to play blue. In particular true name destroyed other midrange strategies like goblins / maverick that were still playable after all.

Why are you all questioning luck being or not a factor in magic? Of course it is, it is a card game and you have no way to influence what you draw / the pool you open besides cheating. It is a bad habit to justify losses with bad luck because there is almost always something very small you could have done differently, but in the end if you mull to 4 because you see no lands you 're going to lose despite all your efforts.

Well here is the article http://www.magiccorporation.com/gatheri ... d-red.html
I realized it is longer than i thought, so don't bother translating everything, just underline more interesting parts (strategy, not obvious interactions, reasons for card choices).... whoever wants to do it can post it in the modern developing section where someone opened the "big red" topic. If no one wants to do it I totally understand
Dechs: i love playing underestimated archetypes so people get pissed when lose against me . I tried google translate but is terrible
LP : well-rounded and feminine

ahah i'm not going to ignore it, but r/b simply serviced me well in some drafts, i'm not judging basing only on the prerelease. Of course the colors were quite open... and of course the whole discussion is not very useful since forcing is probably a bad idea and one should just draft what is open. But i don't think there is any valid reason to actively avoid r/b .

I haven't seen any explanation why r/b is the worst combination. I just remember the sentence "we drafted r/b decks that looked fantastic and then played horribly, and G/W decks that looked horrible but played very well", or something like that. I still don't see any reason not to draft red/black because the individual card quality is the highest.... except for triplicate spirits so you must have one or two -1-1 to all nonblack creatures.

Today there was a kid at my lgs playing a mono-red sligh deck full of shitty cards. After teaching him how to play better and giving him some good commons like foundry street denizen and borderland marauder in place of his shit, i noticed with surprise that he had a koth of the hammer and koth's emblem. I happily picked my third koth and most importantly the emblem giving him some ash zealots/firedrinker satyrs i have in excess.
Uneventful and boring story, but finding koth's emblem changed my day now i can play it in modern skred red

Last m15 draft i played rakdos, but had 2 evolving wilds and ended up splashing both green and blue (1 forest, 1 island) to play jorubay murk lurker and to activate gorilla chieftain ability. I also had a nightfire giant, and i can say those 3 "double colored" creatures were the mvp's of my deck. They really are on par with most rares in term of power level, and i strongly advise splashing for playing those (if you have some decent fixing)

It seems to me that red is just way better than any other color in m15. Besides having stupid good 2-3 drops (generator servant, borderland marauder, goblin roughrider, even krenko's oppressor is decent) it has a massive amount of good removal (lightning strike, inferno fist, heat ray, cone of flames, stoke the flames) while black just has a 5 mana removal and ulcerate (which is very good but probably worse than lightning strike) and white has pillar of light (super conditional) and the uncommon divine verdict with convoke that is decent. I'm happy i can force red in drafts.... last core set i had to force blue and i felt somewhat guilty

Split top 4 out of 20 people. Chose red and pulled Burning Anger and Chandra I had to choose between playing U/R or R/G . Blue had sick rares (Jalira, Leviathan, the one that puts all attacking creatures on top or bottom of library), but green had overall better 2-3 drops as well as three 5/5 tramplers with convoke and 2 ancient silverbacks. In the end i played gruul and it worked, i transformed the deck into izzet against a token strategy in game 3 and blew him out destroying all his attacking tokens.
Burning anger on 5/5 wurms is tasty. Chandra is insane, especially when combined with ping effects like forge devil or shock effects like inferno fist to kill bigger creatures. Also had 1 cone of flame wich is overpowered.

Actually Foundry street denizen might be my favorite one drop ever. I play it in standard when i play boss sligh (i built it months ago before building r/w burn) , i play it in modern goblins (i steamroll a lot of tier 1 decks with it similarly to boss sligh in standard), i play it in pauper goblins. And most importantly he is a goblin I love goblin guide, goblin lackey and so on, but FSD is special ; i just need to find a way to play him in legacy. And i didn't mention i play him in krenko edh : making like 15 tokens and attacking with a 16/1 trampling first striking thanks to legion loyalist is orgasmic

I would gladly play against any gifts deck with burn.... i even beat a guy that end of turn gifted for spellskite, timely reinforcements, circle of protection red and pulse of the fields (post sideboard game, he knew before the event i as on burn so he planned his sideboard accordingly) i give him spellskite and circle of protection. He is at 6 life and have plenty of mana so plays both spellskite and circle. I play boros charm (can't be redirected to spellskite) , he tries to use circle of protection but i also have skullcrack (damage can't be prevented). He was really angry
That said, I think gifts is a really fun card to play.

My advices for the prerelease are : don't splash unless you are forced. If you can play 2 colors, even if you have to put in the deck 2-3 suboptimal cards. This format , as other stated, is very tempo oriented (at least theros and born of the gods were), so you generally don't want to bother losing time with manafixing. I disagree with who said that the curve is not important. In my experience this is a format where having a turn 2 drop is really important, and if you hit your curve you are in very good shape.

The flamespeaker is quite bad but i like it because it's probably a reference to Heraclitus ( "fire to destroy fire to create" ) .
Everytime burn makes top 8 in legacy it seems to be a janky list without fetches and with weird card choices it's annoying to almost never see competent burn players in the format, but it's also funny

Men , i top 8'ed the ptq yesterday (130 people) going 6-1 then losing the first match of the top 8 draft. I would never have imagined such a good result, also given that my sealed pool just had Flame-Wreathed Phoenix as a true bomb (and i didn't play it because red was shallow) .... i played a green/blue deck, that was my favourite combination in theros draft, with all quite good cards and Bow of Nylea / Nessian Wilds Ravager.
In the top 8 draft i assembled U/B control and lost 2-1 in three very close games against B/R.
Phage the Untouchable insta-lose is fantastic
