Boarding in Eidolon vs monsters can't be correct. They have like 4 card that can trigger it... It's terrible past turn 2, and terrible topdeck. Believe it or not, it's actually more like 23. Not saying it's not terrible though. What does not trigger it: Xenagos (either one) Rampager PK SBD Vraska N...

@BiddingMaster - do you find it strange that you board in Eidolon against almost everyone? Is this intentional trickery to set up game 3? If you really only keep it out against 1drop.decs it almost seems better to main deck it. On the play it's actually not bad (1/2 the time) and you can board it ou...

This may be a weird case where you go ahead and kill Jace with YP + BC. If he doesn't have a verdict, last breath, or another jace he loses (or if he plays Rev through your skullcrack bluff). It doesn't seem to matter much - because you only have Charm which answers Jace/Verdict which answers YP Eit...

I like having 2 wear//tear available, if there is a target it's a cheap instant for pyromancer as well. I would not bring it in against control unless I saw Nyx Fleece Rams or BO.

How does Burn consistently beat Bx decks? I don't think there is a pat answer to this. I actually think - given competent play - both matchups are fairly even and draw dependent. I think there are a few people who who say, CRUSH Bx but I think they are just better players. I am not that good but I ...

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised with Font of Ire... in limited. It doesn't shock me that it has some utility. Surprised that it's not paired with EoGR though - really keep the games as short as possible. Best 7 out of 13? Renounce kills ghost dad, d-sphere, and various plainswalkers too. ...

Re: Zems list's drawing the second toil/trouble seems sketchy except vs. rev. So running 4 always gives me lemon face. Man, but it's awesome on T3, so maybe we just have to maximize it. Not sure if this is a consideration -- but EotGR seems like a guy that causes people to panic and misplay. Probably last about 2 weeks then everyone has a plan for him.

I did test a blue counterburn deck ... turn // burn is really much, much worse than chained to the rocks. Eidolon of Great Revel shortens games, doesn't it? That's how I think about it. There are times when you want to shorten the game, and times when you don't. Most standard decks play mostly 2-3 m...

The way to think of Eidolon is not as how many shocks we get symmetrically, but how much shorter does it make the game? So, for example in the mirror it seems terrible on the draw but not totally insanely awful on the play. Decks it might be decent against: mono-blue weenies control (every syncopate...

Titan's Strength is bad in the same way Chained to the Rocks is bad (because it's sometimes dead or can lead to a 2-for-1). Or young pyromancer with no shock/jet back up is bad. It's actually slightly less hassle to lava spike them off of a token or pheonix than it is to get a YP out with a backup....
