Shaman was occasionally really good for the first few weeks of gvg as well. A lot of high power cards that people didn't know how to deal with.

You might not be interested now, but the reason you get into Modern is because, if you buy staples, you don't have to buy decks later. You're setting yourself up to have to buy this shit later.

Don't sell your decks (except for standard stuff) unless you actually need to. Or at least keep a deck or two for each format. If you don't, if you get interested in the format again, you'll have to get over the cost barrier again and regret from selling your shit might stop you from playing again a...

Yeah Yisan seems way too slow. It takes 6 mana just to get a Birds, 9 for a Fauna Shaman, 12 for Eternal Witness.

I've also played Spore Frog and it was pretty good, since I noticed that my opponents would rather just attack other players than waste a combat step just to get me to sacrifice it. Still, Birds is really good because mana fixing and a turn 4 Riku are both very good.

Nothing in particular. I just thought that red would improve the deck. Out of curiosity, I looked at all of the potential options in blue and realized that they're all pretty awful for a spell-based combo deck.

I think the splash is fine as long as people don't skimp on Helixes. That was the main problem I had with Blaklanner's build.
