i think you need to take to the air vs GB decks. That's pretty hard with your list though.

Well I guess it depends on whether you consider a midrange deck to be more of an aggro or control deck. I just think this is closer to a deck like Abzan midrange than it is to Jeskai Burn & Boss Sligh...and there are no threads in the "controlling variants" right now lol edit: @Aodh, w...

Forgot to add that -2 Evolving Wilds, -1 Mountain for some R/U or R/W scrylands is probably correct, but I ain't gonna dish out ~13 tix for a UR scryland. But overall, the amount of red sources stay the same. I was thinking cutting a Banishing Light for a singleton Stoke...maybe even push it with bo...

How are the mainboard Negate? I want to go back to running Brimaz main, but I think you can't run Nullify & Brimaz in the same list.

I'm so torn. Nullify & Brimaz are soo good. Maybe I should go back to the drawing board and cut RR spells?

@Valdarith, I'm running 3 Nullify main. As I was thinking it over, I think nothing is wrong with my build, I just need more experience to know when to hold up certain counterspells & just get a better feel for the matchup in general. I was siding out a single Nullify, but I think I was all 3 bec...

I just it's just how the matchup is then? If you have the Anger for the Rabble/Outburst or the Stoke for Butcher/Dragon, you win. Otherwise you lose? Maybe I've just been unlucky, but my answers always seem mismatched. (When they are matched though, it feels great.) Maybe I should up the number of B...

is Anger & Circle of Flame worth it when their only targets are Rabblemaster & Hordeling Outburst? Seems like you can get f'd and draw Anger when you need to deal with their Butcher or Dragon.

I've been liking Hushwing Gryff more and more in the mirror and against control. Obviously it is an all star vs Abzan and devotion. I feel that being able to cast a creature on their turn (even if it is a mediocre creature) is such huge game.

I think you have to choose two colors that you can run double costs of (ie pick two: UU, RR, or WW). I don't think it is a good idea to try to run WW, RR, and UU.

edit: What about Scouring Sands? I feel the problem is the swarm of 1/1s. Scouring Sands might be really really good.

So Hushwing isn't even terrible in the mirror. Flashing it EOT when you're playing the staring game (can't run mantis into lightning strike) is pretty strong. I'd still side him out, but it isn't the worst.

Not sure I agree on Magma Spray considering how Boss Sligh operates right now. They plan to go very wide with tokens, and have Hammerhand at the ready for your one blocker. And they play Hordeling Outburst instead of Rabblemaster now. I played a few matches online, and postboard I thought I couldn't...

Y'all need to look at the math behind fetches. It is really insignificant considering how short your games should be. Drawing one less land on turn 15 will very rarely change the outcome of the game compared to losing life in the mirror.

I've been doing a 3-1 split of SBD-Sarkhan, and 4 SBD online. Yea, Sarkhan is great, versatile, ect...but Stormbreath Dragon can literally win games out of nowhere versus Abzan. They have draws that simply cannot deal with him.

ONDREJ STRASKY's list is similar to mine, but runs 4 Hushwing maindeck. That could be a consideration, but again, I think Hushwing is awful in the mirror. It is at least an alternative if you don't have Brimaz.

I've been looking for room for 1 or 2 more, but my meta doesn't really call for it. If you have an aggro lite meta, dropping some number of rams or sprays for more Hushwing Gryffs is probably correct (I personally need to dedicate anti aggro slots locally). I'm not sure how I feel about maindeck Hus...

Singing Bell Strike is actually pretty sweet tech that I haven't thought of. Well I knew the card could be constructed playable, but I didn't think of it in Jeskai for some reason. I think you might need to be slightly more blue focused to be able to have UU for things like Bell Strike into Mantis R...

By "the list" I meant a similar R/W burn list, my bad. I'm running 23 lands, no Chandra main board, 1 yolo Font of Ire main, and Tormenting Voice. This is mainly because I don't have a set of Rabblemasters...but to be honest, does Rabblemaster even connect that much? Seems like even a 3 dr...

I've been playing around with the list on MTGO because it was so cheap for me. I'm not sold on it yet. Some games feel unfair and unlosable, but I also have games where I just flood, or draw a creature entirely too late (no repeatable damage source). The fact that there is no hasty flier in R/W is a...

I've always been very satisfied casting Ashcloud Phoenix versus aggro. It's not as good as cards like Arc Lightning, but I don't think Arc Lightning is necessary considering how well positioned we are versus aggro. So this is a fine alternative that also has uses versus control decks and grindy midr...

I think Ashcloud is great against midrange and aggro also. It's a 2 for 1 blocker versus aggro, and a flying beater versus midrange. I think a lot of decks are soft to fliers in general right now.

Prophetic Flamespeaker doesnt attack through anything & Mantis Rider + Seeker is already so good versus aggro...and Brimaz if you're playing him. We'd rather just side in more Magma Sprays. If hard control becomes a thing, he might become a 1-2 of in the board

There are plenty of tweaks to make. 4 Seeker is better tham 3. I watched all UWR burn games on the stream, and Rabblemaster sucked every time he was cast, so changing that is worth looking into. Also we have to expect the mirror so that means the sideboard needs some tuning as well. And I think that...
