I have been wanting to build a Damia deck. And BUG seems like a good combination. I'm not the world's strongest blue player. What are some staples I should look for here? Draw spells seem redundant if I'm drawing off Damia. A few counters could be nice, I suppose, but I have to take it easy with the...

Actually... going with black and green to get access to mana ramp is a way better idea than going with black and white to get access to more of what the deck already does. Maybe I should revisit Glissa. Also, can I get a mod to move this thread out of the multiplayer decklist subforum and into the g...

That's actually exactly what I do have. I've been running a mono-black Chainer deck (part-time Xiahou Dun deck) with a recursion based shell to abuse ETB/LTB effects from things like Kokusho and Gary. My goal is to make that deck better by adding white for better recursion options and more answers t...

I considered that as an option. It's certainly not off the table as one. I do have a board wipe heavy meta, so I'll have to be able to come back from one of those. I can't use Thopter Foundry with Vish Kal, though, because it's Blue too. But you're right, it's not like BW is short on token generators.

[Brewing] B/x Recursion

I am convinced that I will never stop deck building. I've decided to just embrace that. Chainer is developing nicely, but I think it can be a little more than it is by adding White to the pile. White adds even more powerful recursion sources and provides access to Enchantment removal, which is somet...

I think there just comes a point as an EDH player where you reach a level similar to a Kung-Fu guru; yes, you can kill a table on turn 3 or deliver a 5 point palm exploding heart technique punch to kill someone, but is it really worth it? I see myself as 'above that.' I'd much rather play a game wh...

I couldn't tell you, man. I've been EDH exclusive since January. Everything I've picked out as being good or bad has been entirely based on whether or not it'd be good at my EDH table. Someone explained to me not long ago that every time you go up a level of play it becomes a totally different game. I knew that, but for some reason just having it spoken (typed out?) to me was a moment of clarity. People tend to react to players on a level above them by saying their decks are "...

That is a concern. Timing and holding an answer to it, like Living Death, is probably the only way I'll get away with using him with no detriment to myself. That said, I don't think anyone at my table has ever seen this interaction before so I will get away with it at least one time.

Wow. That's a real card. If I understand that properly... I can use Vish Kal's second ability, for example, to target an opponent's creature for the -X/-X counters, which Horobi then destroys, making it an illegal target? [WIP] Chainer, Dementia Master

This is a work in progress thread for Chainer, Dementia Master . Rather than lose the discussion in my other thread on repeatable recursion, I wanted to go ahead and start a thread specifically for brewing Chainer. The deck started out as a scrubby casual deck I threw together to grief someone who j...
