I second that thought. It will take something insane to make me get rid of my KMC Hyper Mattes. Also be careful using them in tourneys. If the image goes all the way to the edge of the card, it is easy to get penalized for marked cards if any of the images is off in the slightest.I've had bad luck with every kind of patterened sleeve I've ever bought. Here's hoping these ones don't fit that trend for you.
As a former judge who dropped down to rules advisor since I never ran many tournaments, I agree completely with this statement. I do miss the promos, though. This is because some of the questions judges get asked are really, really, REALLY fucking stupid. They don't mail judge promos. You get them in packets for judging at large events.More and more, I realize I need to become a Judge. I've been talking with the local L2s, and apparently it wouldn't take long for me to reach L2 since I have most of the rules knowledge and have a firm grasp of most of the penalties/corrections.
I'd certainly like to be mailed a grand every couple months.
Becoming a judge is actually pretty
tricky. Jabberwocky has been trying to pass the L1 test for a few months now, and he always has trouble because the way some of the questions are worded are really, really, REALLY fucking stupid.
There is not one thing wrong with tapping Mountains. All you need to know vs Death & Taxes is to Bolt the Mother and Smash the Vial. The rest is just counting to 20.My opinion is wasted in this conversation. I only know how to tap Mountains and turn dudes sideways. Admittedly, I'm a simple player, but I'm the best there is at what I do.
*snikt*
I know I will likely be on URw myself next week. I want to play a tempo/midrange game with Keranos but I might be better off starting with a control shell. I need to cast as many Izzet Charm and Turn/Burn as I can while still legal.Journey into Nyx has made me pretty set in my want to play UW tempo. I thought Esper Humans was sweet but UW does sweeter stuff. (Like play [card]Profit // Loss[/card], which is a megasweet card) I like decks where my opponent can say "Okay, I go to five" and I get to retort with "Actually go to dead?"
I don't think it will change all that much. We have had that ability in Pyrostatic Pillar for a long time now. II'm of the opinion that Eidolon of the Great Revel could change the face of red decks in Legacy. Maybe a shift away from burn and toward more creature-centric strategies?Agreed about the Modern prices being out of control. I bought my fetches 2 years ago, but if I had to start now I'd be hurting.
My only gripe with Legacy is that everything is so fast, my favorite archetype (aggro midrange) isn't viable.
Unless it is?
I would hardly call speaking the truth trolling but I guess it is a matter of preference. It is very true that Legacy is hard to get into. All these promos released with the MOCS and whatnot have at least been helping with Legacy proliferation online but they do really need to do another set of Master's Edition drafts to keep things going.inb4 I get trolled about Legacy being better
It isn't Ophidian. You don't draw the card, you have to use it that turn.Is an off-color Ophidian bad right now? Only time will tell.
There is nothing wrong with going without fetchlands. It is probably even wise to do so in a meta filled with Stifle. A few of the other cards did seem wierd. Some of the decisions he made on camera were indeed strange as well(Surgical vs Delver, going so all-in on Sulfuric/Pyrostatic). I suppose it isn't that big of a deal though. If the playerbase at large sees this kind of thing and loses respect for the deck, the only thing that will happen is they will getEverytime burn makes top 8 in legacy it seems to be a janky list without fetches and with weird card choices it's annoying to almost never see competent burn players in the format, but it's also funny
