Looking for some feedback on Hybrid Hunter for Season 16.

I'm really not a fan of split secrets (except for the defensive secrets that mage has), and never really liked two quick shots. I think wolf rider is a better card since it requires and answer.
Since it's a new month, you'll probably run into a lot of other aggro decks, but as aggro starts to die down, you'll want to play another owl.

Was making my last day legend run before the server went down for maintenance.

You can play 3 traps, but you want two of them to be the same for reliability. I play 2 freezing and while that has it's own issues, I always know exactly what my mad scientist is fetching.

Second owl is much better then hunters mark. It(sometimes) attacks for 2, is great on coin in agro mirrors and is a beast. Mark is 0 mana which IS great, but as a deck, Hybrid hunter cares less about board control and would rather be able to convert cards into damage.

I personally like 2 zooka's over 2 bows. The reason being is that zooka is better against agro and I don't play traps other then freezing. You're also playing double quickshot though over wolfrider so from a curve standpoint it makes some sense.

Hybrid in general is great. I literally only play it to finish legend climbs and it always performs admirably. You get to smorc people to death and when that fails, you have highmane which is just a busted card.

Yeah I don't like aggro decks without endgames.

Thanks for the feedback, il try 2 explosive, 1 freezing at the start of the season (to punish aggro), then switch later to two freezing.

Fwiw, I'll run 2 freezing until it's clearly stupid to do so just because that secret is so much easier to set up.

All the little details you guys mentioned came up, so thanks for the feedback, was very helpful. I'm considering a Houndmaster in place of the Wolf Rider (both for curve and for power level), but the extra reach was nice.

Down to rank 9 after two sessions this week. I'd like another four or 5 drop so that I curve out more consistently; having only three cards in that space is a bit light.

Houndmaster is the obvious target but I don't have enough beasts early in the curve for it to be reluae. Keen for input!

I like kezan mystic when 75% of players seem to be on mage or hunter

It's a bit too hit or miss for my liking, sonething like Harrison even would be more consistent.

There's a huge amount of Hunter Aggro and Control Warrior on ladder at the moment - currently in the grind to legend as of right now (just hit r5).

Quite of bit of tech in for the meta.

This is definitely a good deck. I can't really speak to anything but Oil Rogue since that's all I'm playing right now, but this deck is tough. Much harder than any other Hunter list I've run into. I've hit a wall at rank 8 since it seems everyone is playing Armour Warrior, big-hand Warlock or this.

Keep at it! Rogue is hard.

I just made rank 4 and beat Reckful on his stream

It is hard, but it's fun. I'm getting better, and hoping to reach Legend this month since the family's gone for three weeks. Just lost a heartbreaking game to a Mage list when I misread what secret he had - Ice Barrier or Ice Block. I had him at 1 life with a choice between attacking with my dagger or SI:7 Agent for 2. Problem was, if I played the Agent I didn't have the mana to take out his guys and survive the next turn, so if the Agent's shot was Blocked, I'd die. He'd been playing like it was Block, so I attacked, he gained 8 armor and won the game a couple turns later.

Rank 4's getting up there though. Good work!

I'd love so much to hop back on oil rogue now, but I'm at rank 15 and don't have much time to play, so I might be stuck on aggro this month.

Took this on a 13 game win streak from rank 14 to rank 8, dicked around with other decks for a bit, then got back on hunter for a 5 game streak.
I'll be playing hybrid hunter until someone gives me a STRONG reason not to.

Also, Shieldmasta seems tasty. I'll try it in the Mystic slot, since that thing hasn't been putting in any work lately.

Scratch that, Houndmaster seems so much better.

Houndmaster isnt as good as Shieldmasta given the number of beasts you're running.

Oh. Yeah. I kinda went against my word just now and joined the dark side. I saw some dude streaming handlock and it gave me the notion that I'd be good with the deck, so I made the switch and found success.

Then this morning I got beat turn 4 by face hunter because I didn't draw any interaction.

Pushing for legend tonight, I intend on writing some content about the deck and my experiences with the game in the near future.

Made legend at number 125 at a 62% winrate.

How did your winrate change over time as you went up in rank? Did you track that?

Looking forward to reading your article. Hybrid Hunter is one deck I'd like to put together at some point. Just need one more wing of Nax to get that Scientist.

Haha I guess you just eventually hit legend if you keep winning more games than you lose (not an easy thing to do at high ranks)

I think it is so much better to have multiple decks when laddering because, without the ability to make a big switch, you can get stuck in a slump for a fucking long time. For example, when I was just jamming hunter, I dropped from 7 to 11, and it took me the better part of a week to get back. I'm still not the way recovered (got stuck at rank 8 5 stars, then later rank 7 3 stars), but hopping between shaman mid, hybrid hunter and handlock certainly helps me overcome the problem of losing trust in my deck and my draws after a few unfortunate losses.

Oh yeah. You would have been so good at hs if you got in earlier, just because 60% of the game was squeezing value out of everything, but only the magic players seemed to get that. Arenas were a breeze :swoon:

BTW, it you do end up making a write up somewhere for hybrid hunter, you should probably mention the whole cheating thing in your background/credentials. Don't want to have someone reveal that in the comments section of your first article, ya know?
