Seems... not awful. This is a tough card to evalute. How much does monored really want card draw? Obviously not enough to splash blue (since that has happened, like, twice in the history of magic), but is it enough to play this card? Maybe as a 1-of.

I think I'm going to play this in EDH. As a 1-of.

This is the Crater's Claws of aggressive mono red decks. It's not the heart and soul of the deck but I think it will be necessary as a 1-2 of to go over the top of rebounded wraths or periless vaults.

This card is super sweet, in the right deck.

One comes to mind: Mono-red or mostly red devotion.

I don't play any Standard because I'm a hipster, but this card is high on my brew list for Modern as a CA engine for a devotion list.

As a first pass, I want to try this creature-centric build:

I just realized what a weird motherfucker is on the art of this card. Combined with the flavor text, leaves me baffled with any previous Tarkir lore I know.

Good point. I understood 7 of the first 12 words. Usually I understand less than 50%.
