Snapcaster Post rotation

Postby Yannaria » Fri Jul 19, 2013 3:34 pm

With Rotation coming soon, where will Snapcaster be once he rotates? I'm looking to pick up a foil because it's one of my favorite cards and I'm wondering what price would be good to buy them. A local store has one for 95 dollars and it has been there for a few weeks.
Is that a good buy?

Also Yannus: http://sales.starcitygames.com/search.p ... D=1&auto=Y

SCG has NM for $90. So $95 is a god-awful price.

That just shows you how awful your $95 price is

I highly doubt they'll lose much value anytime soon; picking up a foil one doesn't seem like a bad investment as long as you aren't paying starcity prices. Heck, on a long enough timeline you'll probably make a killing.

It will probably not lose much because Standard makes up roughly 5% of the play the card receives. You'd be fighting everyone else who knows this buying up "discounted" snapcasters from people trying to dump their excess standard stock. The fact that it's risen from a low of $13 to $23 despite seeing less and less play in Standard, ala Liliana, is telling.

You can use a new website called Google.com to search for cards and compare prices. There are other websites that you may have seen other people talking about like eBay, an online auction page, and TCGPlayer, a website specializing in reselling trading card game singles to players of said games, that contain listings of cards whose values you can compare with other retailers, such as brick and mortar stores.

Modern is Driving Snappy's value right now, it is a staple in a few formats, don't expect it to drop below 30 bux
