Unlike Alex, who got to notice that there's plenty of SC folk here...I'm betting I'm the only one from my area.

I'm so ronrey...

Totally...but I figured this way I'd be the first to post from this area. So, if someone else DOES come along...I'm top dog.

Or something like that. How does this internet prestige bullshit work again?

Beginner friendly is definitely tough. Even though most places have free FNM, people are pretty cutthroat.

I played from some of the early days of the game, but took a long break, and just got back into the game, and introduced my wife to it just prior to RTR...so it was a bit frustrating for her to get into a community that was so competitive (even if they don't play T1 decks in a lot of places...they're still competitive.) We've found the best success in drafting, since everyone's on equal footing, and it's helped both of our card evaluation skills.

Otherwise...I'd say Hastur's on State is probably the least competitive place, but the people there still take FNM seriously (I really don't, as long as I'm not paying.)

yeah i've heard conflicting things about hasturs, i dont really care about getting treated like a noob myself. but i dont want it to negatively effect my fiances view on mtg from a community standpoint. and dealing with elitist assholes can totally make you feel that way lol

Where did you end up going last night, and what was your experience?

Ended up not going. We had to unpack some stuff so we could move in the couches that never came today.

In a word: fuck
