Iridium's moderation style generates so many lols that the Blathering thread can no longer contain them.

I'm not debating this with you any further.
That's right, Xen is so bothered by this guy's two-sentence post on his helpdesk that after a single reply he refuses to discuss the matter anymore.

Reporter's Reason(s):
<Scg is bad for magic, and bad for anyone who gives them money.> Accusations without proof are trolling, and the bracketed comments are flaming. Troll/Flame Infraction issued - Skies.
saying scg is bad for the game is flaming scg

This message has been sent to all moderators of this forum, or all administrators if there are no moderators.

Please respond to this post as applicable.
Troll baiting is troll baiting, whether it's about SCG or not.
Nothing about the reported post has to do with flame baiting. I don't understand what you're trying to say.
Quit trying to be cute before you earn yourself an infraction for abuse of the report system.
I was reporting the post for something that the staff has declared to be against the rules. I am not a moderator so I cannot take any action to correct said post. I am doing my part to bring posts that I think break the rules to the attention of the staff. As a member of staff it is your prerogative to address the reported post or not.

Remember kids; Because of its status in the magic community, Star City Games is considered a member of MTGS and any criticisms levied towards the site or its staff have been met in the past with moderator action.
This is completely untrue and is blatant baiting. Infraction issued for troll/flame baiting-Xen
Did you point out that, y'know, it is in fact completely fucking true? Drifting Skies, Sparki, Sene, and Parinoid (not actually a mod, but the mods seem happy for him to add his opinion as if he still was) have all explicitly stated that MTGS anti-flaming policy extends to SCG and similar non-person entities.

Xen shuts down another discussion based on events that haven't actually happened yet:
Any thread with an OP persistently claiming something is "mindless" or "dumb" that may be taken as insulting to a large portion of the player base isn't going to end well.

Another counterfeit discussion thread bites the dust:

Since this devolved into a pissing match like every other counterfeit thread, I'm going to just nip this one in the bud now.

Oracle Xen officially states that counterfeit discussion threads are forbidden and will be closed on sight.

He also uses the post as an opportunity to take not one, not two, but four separate swipes at the user base by insulting their intelligence.

I'm personally at that point right now. After closing every thread and putting a gag order on the discussion once it appeared in the Official Reserved List Discussion thread? It's become pretty clear that many in our community unfortunately cannot discuss some topics and keep it civil or mature to allow intelligent discussion. I tried to leave open the latest thread after forcing the topic to have a rest - I wanted to see if it could be discussed after everyone cooled off. As this topic has continued to prove, however, the desire to interject in the discussion with hyperbole, sensationalism and personal attacks is too much and a lot of people don't have self control.

Since threads on the subject can't keep to the facts, I'll be closing them on sight for the near future. The initial threads I took no action upon because I thought it was an important topic we should be allowed to discuss and keep updated
on; but, there has been little information and much speculative arguing, instead.

It's too late. Or is it? I guess of I say it is too late that would be speculative arguing. I guess we just shouldn't say anything unless it has already happened and then we should just summarize it so no one is ever wrong or offended

Latest MTGS mod to start wielding the infraction hammer for questionable reasons: bobthefunny

- infracts a guy for using the phrase "god, I hate Mark Rosewater" - Flaming
- gives an official warning to another guy for agreeing with the above phrase - Flaming
- infracts yet another person for saying "Blame MaRo for everything because he likes to troll EDH players" - Flaming
- infracts the first guy again for expanding on his original statement - Flaming

All this within the space of a dozen posts: [url]http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthre ... st11614909[/url:

Is that what happens there? I see the phrase "This is also flaming, - bob" with a comma at the end like he fell asleep halfway through the process.

Also, let me drop a little knowledge here: we all know and love the phrase "You spoony bard!" for its use in FFIV, but it wasn't a typo or mistranslation there; the word 'spoony' in that sentence means "gay, homosexual, a faggot, a poof." It's slang for someone who fits together with their
own kind, and gained wide notoriety during the American Depression era because gayness gained a connotation for being something poor people do (along with spoons, which the poor had to use to drink their thin soup instead of being rich enough to afford food that you had to use a knife and fork to eat), but the word itself and its use as a demeaning moniker for homosexuality dates back to the 1800's. When Tellah is beating the shit out Edward and says that, he's saying the dude likes it when other men penetrate them with their penis.

After several days of furious summiting, Gals has decided that counterfeit discussion remains banned because "if people are looking to improve their counterfeiting skills I don't really want to help them."

But it's ok, because "I'm trying to get as much information as is needed put together for you all" -- aren't we lucky we have Gals to decide what information we're allowed access to! He's like a living, breathing, neckbearded internet filter.

Ah, I love Stage 2 Gals.
> Brags about doxxing rippers to protect the trading forums
> becomes suspect if you try to learn how to dox rippers to protect yourself

> Would undoubtedly be in favor of people learning how to protect themselves from becoming the victim of counterfeiters
> Won't let people learn how

"As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master."

Also, Good Cop Gals is still valiantly "trying to get as much information as is needed put together for you all" regarding counterfeits.

...but...

Unsurprisingly, he's infracting/censoring anyone who tries to provide any information about the topic in the meantime because ONLY GALS GETS TO BE THE GOOD GUY.

Imagine the summit they must have had to figure it out

Yomako was like, "This counterfeit talk is making me scared, goo," and then Xenphire told him it would be okay and rested his cock on Yomako's shoulder, who promptly began fellating it.

I received a complaint about the above scenario. Rather than make myself seem less villainous through deleting it, my honor dictates I let it remain despite the shame I feel. I have, however, amended the summit below to reflect things more realistically.

Yomako was like, "This counterfeit talk is making me scared, goo," and then Xenphire told him it would be okay and rested his cock on Yomako's shoulder, who promptly said, "No sir, I will not slob that tempting knob," and swatted the cock away.

MTGS may look different these days but iridium will never change. Here's an example of Annorax being a complete and utter dick.

http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/mtg- ... -banned#c2

KBT wants to appeal his ban but can't because he can't log in to the new site, so he creates a new account to ask for help. Annorax ignores the question and bans the new account on sight. The circular logic is impressive:

KBT: I want to appeal my ban through proper channels but I can't. What do I do?
Annorax: Appeal through proper channels. BANNED!

Classy.

Really, this says it all. If I wanted eye candy and a zillion ads, I could go to youtube, cheezburger, or google up some porn. Having all that shit everywhere looks like it would be distracting as hell, which I at least think would be annoying if you're trying to use the forums to have a discussion; a bit like trying to talk to your friend but the owner of the bar keeps turning up the volume on the TV.

Then again, I wouldn't know, it seems they've banned my IP address with the new site. Et tu corruptus, Ned from the Geek Squad?
