Hey lp. If someone had you choose one of 3 doors, only one of which has value behind it, and you choose one, and he opens another which shows no value, and he gives you the option to switch your original choice to the other unknown door, do you stay or switch?

Doesn't he have a 2/3 chance by switching?

I'm sure LP has access to SCG Premium and already knows the answer.

Yeah Jim's article was probably the douchiest "that happened" article I've ever read.
His mouth was literally agape when he saw someone casually mention card games at a casino party, guys!

Ah yes, it was select. I switched Jim's article with Todd's because I have no fucking clue why Todd is on the premium side.

I'm finding it harder and harder to read most people's articles simply for the fact they all come off as whiny. Todd Anderson, Ross Miriam, and Anthony Lowry are the worst offenders.

Ross's articles at least have stomachable content.

Really, the problem is star city has too many people on the payroll.

You guys are writing my list of reasons I stopped reading SCG. That and the average writer quality just wasn't there. Are Kiblers articles still at least good reads?

They still have good writers, just not every day.

Most of the premium is good minus Todd. There's like, 3 good premium writers.

If you try and read everything, your eyes will bleed.

I mean, I still read everything, but I also have no life so it's no real loss.

Ari Lax, Shaun McClaren, and Kibler are the big draws to Premium. Chaz Andres usually has some good things to say on the financial side as well. The versus videos are okay, but CFB videos offer a lot more content. Even Zem's videos are better. :P

Sam Black has some good ones from time to time too. So it's not bad, I just don't think Premium offers positive EV as long as CFB exists.

I forget and am still bitter that Tom Ross ran over to scg to write content. He has a good stream and does good video content and his writing is usually good when he's not pissing on about modern and trolling every comment.

Because he's trolling the comments of the recent pro player string of modern is bad because blue isn't good articles, and it's not even entertaining, he's just responding to everyone until they either accept his point of view or stop responding.

I usually try to keep an open mind about people I've never met before, but the hate around here for Todd is completely justified. His last article is complete dogshit.

The difficult part to swallow is that I think I played well, though I clearly remember making a few mistakes that ended up costing me a match. I also caught the short end of the stick when it came to "bad matchups," playing against U/B Control twice on Day 2 and losing to it both times, while Brad and friends skated by the competition. I keep telling myself that the shoe will be on the other foot sometime soon, but it is much harder to keep telling myself that when I've been saying it for two years.

Maybe Brad really is the luckiest guy I've ever met, but I doubt it.
How the fuck is this premium content? Say what you want about Jim Davis's last article, but I rather read that over this sad sack of shit.

The snow fell all around me. Still I trudged on. In the distance, a baby cried. I raised my hood and walked on. Suddenly, a shart.

Sometimes Brad Nelson is really interesting, every now and then he isn't.
Every once in a while I find Sam Black's articles interesting, but usually I start watching his videos of janky builds (Naya Constellation? Ghostway?) and move on.
They're just examples, nobody's perfect.
Todd Anderson, though, is really consistent.

Sam Black draws his motivation through creativity - he is incredible at producing new ideas. While most font pan out it's still great. It's good to have some strong players with a different approach to deck building - we all benefit for his contributions.

Brad is pretty good player; mostly a deck tuner. I'm keen to see how he tweaks lists, but I would t want to have to work with him or get play feedback from him.
