If I played modern, I'd jam Amulet Bloom at every event and demand my opponent play blood moon.

It's a nasty deck, but I discovered that a lot of those guys overextend into a lethal Deflecting Palm. :unibrow:

It is.

You lose to like, bile blights and drown and sorrow, but if they don't have it, they're fucked.

Dragon fodder is a pretty huge gain. Board presence that also triggers denizen and swiftspear? SUREEEEEEEEEEEE.

Your Stokes are also cheaper and atarka's command regularly does 6+damage. Depending on how low-curve the format is, you can even add searing blood to the deck and just be straight up burn.

Lastly, having the scry lands and going up to 21 means you hit your 3s on time more often.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

... Is triggerkin your gender or your sex? How can you be a triggerkin and asexual at the same time?
Triggerkin would be the personal identity. In that his existence is the embodiment of the state of being triggered.
To translate, he's not interested in sex, but is willing to be with multiple partners in a relationship at the same time, as the embodiment of triggered-dom.
Don't worry I minored in Tumblr.

So Thrillho was totes right about Ire Shaman. Put it in devotion red and our favorite Nykthos driven strategy is back on track.

I guess I should explain: The cards good not mainly because of the morph draw, but in part. It's good because now in devotion, you all of your 2-drops can gaurntee damage and it's modular.

Dragon whisperer is the best of the bunch and I've activated formidable several times as something more then just 'lol winmore'.

Eidolon is better then mardu scout though higher variance. It's still a good card though and adds 2 red devotion.

Then you have ire shaman as the swiss army knife. As a 2 drop, it's generally worse then the other 2, but it's still a 2 drop which the deck is hungry for. When you have a blank on 3, you can morph it which is actually great. Playing a 2 into a soft 3 is better then playing 2+2 unless you have nykthos, and since the unmorph is so cheap, you actually get to use the extra card most of the time. You're essentially getting Pay R, +1/+1 draw a card which is awesome. Now the kicker; the evasion is actually great on this thing.

The key to fixing the devotion deck from where I had it was making just rebuilding it and making it more aggressive. There's a decent 2/8/5/6/4 curve with shaman being the modular 2/3 which fills the curve beautifully.

That sounds incredibly promising, LP. Can't wait to hear more.

Are you using Ashcloud Phoenix or Thunderbreak Regent as your 4-drop of choice?

Roast is good in Modern?

I haven't tested it, but it got me hot and bothered when it was spoiled. Almost no need to splash black for Terminate now, unless Twin takes over in a serious way.
Volley becomes a 1-mana uncounted able roast out of SB in that scenario.

Ire Shaman is a good split card as an evasive 2-drop or a bigger evasive Silvergill Adept on 4.
You want to have the option to beat down or use mana and draw out advantage, so it retains functionality in all phases of the game.
I am a great card analyst.

LP that Rg deck is exactly the type of thing I was brewing alongside a Dash abusing deck. I may try to build this from the pre release tonight because damn does that look strong!

For anyone else that enjoy prereleasing you can fuck around here: http://www.magicdrafting.com/dragons-of ... d/?color=3

Or you can try to build this pool better than me. Going UB at prerel for best chance at value :P http://www.magicdrafting.com/savedpools/7731

There are actually corner cases where tapping your lands before you play your spell as opposed to announcing your spell, then tapping to play your lands matters.

Yes, they are different methods and yes both are legal with variable rules implications.

Online it makes a big difference because if you choose the spell first and it's an x spell your opponent can generally tell what it is as the initial casting cost disappears then X starts sinking in

if you change your mind, it shows what's in your hand

I opened an incredible sealed pool, but didn't go 4-0 because scrub. Dropped one match while seated at table 1. Mull'd to 5 G1 and got stuck on 2 land / 1 color (whatever, happens) and then proceeded to punt G2 by trying to unnecessarily accelerate a 2 --> 1 turn clock with Butcher's Glee into 2 cards and open mana while racing against blue/white evasion.

BR looked like the best set deck easily.

The seeded pack gives you just enough quality to push your synergy over the top.

I saw a game where guy has Warbringer(dash cost 2 less) in play along with other random dork and his turn was dash double ambuscade shaman and kolaghan forerunners for lethal out of nowhere.
