Go back a couple pages and a posted a shell for it. It was largely clunky and probably could never win on the draw, but it had a devotion subtheme along with 4 sidis and a bunch of bullets.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

Really enjoyed Brad Nelson's RB Dragons today. Went 2-2 in the first FNM, made some adjustments and crushed the second one 4-0. Deck is sweet.

Decided to stop dicking around with my brewing decks and ran a modified RDW from the Invitational. Went 2-1 after getting fringed with RUG Assault Formation R1 and miscalling beatdown role. Getting hit with a flying wall for 10 off temur battlerage is very tilt inducing.

Other games proved power of multiple Foundry dash or Heelcutter dash. Created some dead Plagues bringing out fodders and outbursts for Siege, Arc, Vaultbreaker, land.

Got to live the dream of Foundry, Foundry + Foundry, Fodder + Beserker.

Lol yep. I do a bunch of testing at FNM and effectively use it as testing as the skill and tier levels vary between kitchen table and PT players. I think I play more rounds outside of FNM testing than I do during the actual event. Trying to convince some of the crew to drive to SCG NYC right now. . .

Also, anyone prepping for SCG States next week? Im thinking of hitting MD.

I plan on taking the highly coveted Nebraska trophy by being the best player in the competitive state of Nebraska.
Also at my high profile testing session, I got my second 7land dig through time ever.

I lost to a new girl who's playing at FNM for the first with the same deck she put together at pre-release for Dragons with a few added cards. Both games I got stuck on two and three lands while I repeatedly get my ass beaten by subpar common creatures I wouldn't even play in sealed and lost due to a Lava Axe to the face.

Time to off myself.

2-0 in MTGO DTK drafts so far

GW
UW splash Deathmist Raptor
1-2 UB
2-1 RW
3-0 GB
2-1 BW
1-2 BW

UB was first draft and got unlucky with an insane deck. RW deck was also great. GB deck was very good. Both BW decks where fairly mediocre.

I'm pretty sure GW is good and I think there's some kind of aggressive U deck in the format.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

What about a Mono Red Sledgehammer build with a Devotion subtheme?

[deck]
Lands 24
20 Mountain
4 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx

Creatures 26
4 Lightning Berserker
4 Zurgo Bellstriker
4 Dragon Whisperer
4 Ire Shaman
4 Flamewake Phoenix
4 Thunderbreak Regent
2 Stormbreath Dragon

Spells 8
2 Draconic Roar
2 Roast
2 Twin Bolt
2 Crater's Claws

Artifact 1
1 Hammer of Purphoros

Planeswalker 1
1 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker

Sideboard
4 Eidolon of the Great Revel
2 Searing Blood
2 Arc Lightning
2 Ashcloud Phoenix
2 Chandra, Pyromaster
1 Mob Rule
1 Roast
1 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
[/deck]

Nykthos is there to take primarily to take advantage of Lightning Berserker, Dragon Whisperer, Stormbreath, and Crater's Claws. I want more interaction than the typical Devotion list.

Happy b-day Zem.

So I got 3rd at my store's special $1k Invite that was a mix of Standard and Modern matches (three each). Top 8 was Modern again (changed from draft for some reason). I made it into the top 8 without a single game loss but loss to Ad Nauseum in the semi finals because fuck that deck. I wanted the trophy but at least I walked away with a good amount of cash. It makes up for yesterday's fuckery.

Well he himself is really weird looking and it shows in the monk. The eyes look crossed and crooked. It's like if Lenny from Of Mice and Men was petting a lotus to death
