It sees fringe play in Modern and Legacy. Its just that the sort of decks that wants it (RDW or White Weenie) aren't good in their respective formats. It used to be a 3-of in the mana-sink variants of legacy burn, but there have been enough reasonable cards printed in the last few years to oust it (Searing Blaze and now Skull Crack).
Amazing card though, one of my all time favourites.

As long as it is later the next day and not exactly the next morning - getting a 2-for-1 is important because that's how you get ahead.I know. When you said that to me this morning, I got so excited.Few things are better than hearing late the next day "I'm still sore".

Me. I'm a huge EDH nut. I run a 1v1 Kaalia deck, a multiplayer Jaya Ballard deck, and a Nin the Pain Artist deck. I'm considering writing a Primer for Nin.
In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

@Z: Can't tell if sarcasm or srs bsns. By the 4 Legion Loyalists MB, I assume sarcasm.
I'm a fan of hipster decks; very few staples, tons of cards no one has heard about. Like "6: Regrowth". Colorless. Wizards printed that, and I don't think anyone noticed.

I could see -1 Loyalist, +1 Dynacharge, but the deck is actually serious.

Good evening, everyone!
On the subject of Modern, I wish they would push in the direction of making that more popular. I enjoy Modern a hell of a lot more than Standard. Playing virtually any deck you want is pretty nice. Just not as large a playerbase.

It's been my experience that All-In decks have a plethora of pump spells to make all the little guys hit huge for a turn. Why only one here, and why Dynacharge? As long as it is later the next day and not exactly the next morning - getting a 2-for-1 is important because that's how you get ahead.I know. here, and why Dynacharge?
Also, have not done a lot of testing...but mostly trying to focus on intrinsic synergies between the cards. Pump spells (a la Gruul Aggro) can lead to awkward spell heavy draws (which start to become common once you're running 10+ spells) and mana problems (a key issue with both Naya Blitz and Gruul Aggro). The trade here is consistency for a slightly lower power level, and the validity of the variant will depend on how that exchange balances out. By being Mono Coloured, you do get to run Boros Reckoner as well, which is significant compensation.
It may very well be that I want a second Dynacharge, because it certainly seems very powerful here (and the Battalion cards are about as good as they can be).
Thanks!Happy
Birthday zem!

I used to think these types of cards were pretty lame until one day I was watching LSV stream, and in an M13 draft, he was like "I don't know why my opponent is swinging out, I'm just going to take it and go to ten. ...wait, why am I dead? ...oh, Trumpet Blast." I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at a game of Magic in my life.I do listen sometimes.
Thanks Helios.

Like a lot of cards, they're not good or bad, just different to the commonly accepted 'wisdom'. Are cards like this frequently bad? Yes. But that is because they don't fit into most traditional builds. In some decks however, they're basically Searing Blaze or better ~ even if I "2-for-1" myself to a creature for theirs; if another guy or two are getting in as well, that is evening out. Combine it with Legion Loyalist or the first strike guys?
To quote LSV, "On a scale of 1 to a 'big game', that is almost assuredly...a big game".

I had no idea it was your birthday, but Happy Bday zem. Soon you'll be old enough to rent ultra-porn.
redthirst is redthirst, fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse. He was the leader of the Fires of Salvation, the only clan I'm aware of to get modded off the forums so hard they made their own forums.
Degenerate? Sure. Loudmouth? You bet. Law abiding? No ****ing way.
Great guy to have around? Hell yes.

Thanks to the ham-challenge, I don't even watch porn any more, which is surprisingly satisfying. Certainly have more free time now, so I can vouch for the extra productivity and energy the challenge will bring. Very glad I signed up (even if I fell off the path a few times). This clan is full of awkward tensions, why stop at porn?

Back from Italy! It was pretty fucking awesome, I was afraid a long weekend away with the GF's little sisters would make me want to postpone having kids for a decade but it turned out pretty amazing. I should post some pictures soon as requested
It's 1:23AM and I'm physically very tired. GF is asleep by my side, exhausted. Made the mistake of having an espresso after dinner at her father's, so what to do? Read the backlog of clan thread!
Oh cool, it's Z's birthday! Happy birthday man

Tell us more about Italy!
Yeah, I have learned not to drink coffee past about 9pm or I am just not going to sleep, ever (although, I do already have pretty bad sleeping patterns, so the coffee just exaggerates that).
Also, thanks!

Yuuuup! It's a fantastic thing to try, and I definitely feel the benefits. I'm surprisingly not horny though, not in the traditional sense. I do feel more aggressive around women, but not 13 year old schoolboy style. Thanks to the ham-challenge, I don't even watch porn any more, which is surprisingly satisfying. I have noticed this as well. I don't actually think about sex much at all now, where as it used to be a latent consideration (or I would be distracted easily). However, when it is business time, it is business time, which is pretty sweet really. Really happy with the results, and have been going on long enough now that it is habit (or removal of habit? Aesnath, help!).Yuuuup! It's a fantastic thing to try, andThanks to the ham-challenge, I don't even watch porn any more, which is surprisingly satisfying. I think I suddenly caught a case of "It's my birthday."Happy Birthday, Z! For your present, I invite you to come over and I'll share my redhead with you.
Can it be my birthday guys? GUYS??!?!?!!?!!
Also, happy birthday James. I'd suggest 2/3 pump affects for your deck. The best way to play around supreme verdict is to just kill them.
Also, wizards needs to quite dragging there feat and reprint Ghitu encampment and other manlands. Manlands are some of my favorite things in magic.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

@ Alex: No beating your meat for 30 days. I don't think you have to quit watching porn, but there wouldn't be any point if you aren't wanking it. Females(or in your case, men) giving you reach arounds is acceptable. The main point is no solo happy time.
