like, with KNOWN information, what is orator blocking in standard, what is last breath targeting in standard, what is Dromoka doing against what, why opportunity instead of ingenuity, how is a deck with 8! 6 drops and 2! 8 drops and 0! ramp spells not going to die ALWAYS, why Banishing Light w/ Ugin, etc etc etc
Lastly, I thought I'd actually, you know, BREW and share my thoughts with people here as opposed to just leaving it on my facebook group. I am annoyed that your surprised that there's a lot of stuff wrong with the deck seeing as it's the first brew when the whole spoiler isn't even out. Like, I'm sorry I posted a rough decklist instead of a pristine copy of caw-blade. Forgive me oh mighty kait.
I made some tweaks, try this

[deck]Pristine Copy of Caw-Blade[/deck]

Why so many Into the Roils? Where's your Gideon? Did you consider Sun Titan?

to be such a siege rhino among men that they have to ban not one but two pieces of your deck... In STANDARD

I'd play Consecrated Sphinx over Sun Titan and although no one loves Gid the Kid better than me, I think lists started trimming him after NPH to cut some fat

Anyways I grabbed that from Google

I think I'm most excited about red devotion right now. It goes bigger than green devotion and quicker. Control decks don't have Rev anymore so there's actually some inevitability now. Roast might give it a chance against Rhino decks, though there might just be better options in splash colors. Outpost Siege is the best card advantage engine in Standard and maybe Commune with Lava is playable.

The main issue is that it lacks an anti-sweeper card like it had before with Boros Charm and like green Devotion has with Whisperwood.
The only problem with red devotion before was Bile blight(sort of) and Abrupt decay on hammer.

Without BTE, the deck is a LOT worse but our enemies aren't quite as powerful as before so I think we have enough gas to be competitive.

Also, sweepers where never an issue. If your whole hands in play, the where dead, and if not, you generally where sandbagging the dragon that killed them. If you want to be better against sweepers, try splashing green for xenagos, or playing white and boarding in Elspeth. Both strats worked well for me.

The best plan though was usually overcommitting into it with your last card on board being a big fanatic, then post wrath, dragooning them. If you don't want to commit heavily, the strat is play firebreathing type dudes and pressure them that way while commiting non-creature permanents to the board like outpost siege and hammer.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

@LP I like that you're brewing and I like that you're brewing Bant because who doesn't love Bant? but I don't like THAT Bant, and I believe in deck critique as a trial of fire unlike MTGS

I will say, the decks playability is directly correlated with the amount of play savage knucklebalde sees, at least in it's current form.

Dragon tutor may be playable just because of how backbreaking Atarka is.

Red devotion actually can't beat an Atarka ETB trigger.

I think I'd prefer playing 1 sarkahns triumph and 1 atarka over 2 atarka if I crammed it into Devotion since I also get to tutor for stormbreath dragon. Not sure if I actually want a tutor though.

I don't think putting all the interaction in the Sideboard is playable but if it is, this would be how you'd want to build devotion.

[deck]4 Mardu Scout
4 Dragon Whisperer
4 Eidolon of the Great Revel
4 Flamewake Phoenix
2 Purphoros, God of the Forge
4 Fanatic of Mogis
4 Stormbreath Dragon
1 Dragonlord Atarka

1 Sarkhan's Triumph

2 Hammer of Purphoros
4 Outpost Siege
2 Xenagos, the Reveler

9 Mountain
4 Temple of Abandon
4 Wooded Foothills
2 Rugged Highlands
1 Forest
4 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx[/deck]

Sb would likely be roasts, destructive revelery, cheap removal like wild slash/magma spray, and maybe flamebreak regent to get around anger of the gods. Could also have 1 drops and more atarka in the board.

also 4 Nykthos seems more harmful than helpful in a deck that's not really doing anything with the mana besides pumping stuff

Nykthos lets you double spell earlier, and you get random value across the deck. Dragon speaker, monstrous dragon, purph trigger, hammer, etc.

I know it's hard because it only has R in the casting cost instead of RR, but instead of playing a bad card you'll be playing a good one.

I'd rather play Monastery Mystic or Rabblemaster than Myth Realized. Also, there's no excuse for playing less than four Stoke in an Ascendancy list.
