@ Calamity - Don't disagree with you at all...Chandra is indeed harder to keep alive as I said. The fact that Keranos can flat-out kill things or your opponent once he's established on the board in addition to drawing cards is nuts.
I was trying to say that the strategy wasn't being run because Chandra doesn't fit that role and Keranos might be strong enough to make it happen, not because it's intrinsically bad in this environment (says the guy that isn't following standard at all lol).

...so yeah we're basically agreeing

Yeah, depends on the Izzet support in this set I would imagine. James et al have proven that burn is playable, but that white splash is a key piece of the working deck; I don't know if Izzet can grow the chops in one short set to get there...it will be interesting to see.

Just noticed that the rares revealed thus far are very color-heavy...of the 10 we've seen, 8 require xx in a given color. Could just be spoiler order, but interesting just the same.

Godsend is OP. Too bad ALL of whites good cards are three drops.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

I think he'll find his way into UWR control for now as a one or two of.

Now that I think about it, I really want to make UWR midrange work. There's something really appealing with having a deck that can run D-Sphere, Stormbreath, and Elspeth in one.

I really like Keranos and Godsend. The raw CA and VCA that card gives is freaking ridiculous. Reveal land, draw a card? Yes, please. Reveal shock, send 3 to the face and then shock for 2 more? Yes, please. Going by Frank's article, 10 blue sources is all the deck would need for 90% chance to have blue by turn 5 so it should be splashable. Could probably get away with less. I'd so want to call this deck American Nukes.

I'd want to try running Godsend in GW hexproof too. Maybe as a 2 of. It makes your guy that much more of a pain in the ass to block.

And man, the art is epic on both of those cards. Godsend though...dear gods what an epic Voltron card. Put that on Brimaz and watch the fun, especially with Iroas on the field.

Insert Izzet pun.

Fun, but I don't think this'll make too big of a splash standard wise...Online gut reactions seem to be America control variants.

Cycle of rare flash enchantments too, the red one seems fun, and as someone on reddit pointed out, this magical christmasland play is something I wanna do just cause it'll induce much much rage. Boros Reckoner out. End step flash enchantment, your turn Fated Conflag your Reckoner, 20 the opponent? Mmmmmmm.

Fated Conflagration gets doubled first, then the damage from Reckoner gets doubled again.

Reckoner is such a fun Johnny card...I'm gonna miss it when it rotates. One could possibly build a red midrange deck to shoot the combo, but keeping Reckoner alive and on the board long enough to set it up--eh. Still, Dictate of the Twin Gods is going to be fun in direct-damage decks, if not Standard, then casual for sure. Cast Dictate EOT, untap, then pop Shrine of Burning Rage? Too, too funny.

Welp. Both UR and UW gods disappointed me. But there's still some neat enchantments coming out. I should be able to make use of a few.

Keranos is okay. Should have been four mana. He's not super exciting to me.

I really like Dictate of Kruphix though.

Any way we could put up all the spoilers on DtR so I don't have to go through the trouble of checking out Sally on my phone to look up cards every time someone mentions a new spoiler? Is that something someone (else) wants to do?

Second this. I can't get to the Sally Spoilers while I'm at work.

I nominate Kait for the effort. She's always trying to make this place more appealing than Sally anyway.

Arrite arrite.

Uh... magic number generator says: Kaze!

He can also come up with his own flavor text for each card. The Godsend line was great. More quality work like that would keep me entertained.

Also, new low score while beating 2048: 21244. Got the 2048 block with only a 128, 64, and 32 on the board with a few 8s and 4s.

Now to see how far I can go...

I've done almost every Rumor Mill thread every set, somebody else take two minutes to copy paste text or upload images. We have enough admins and mods, someone do something.

It's a niche card but I like the design. I'm a Johnny/Spike so it appeals to me. It's like Rites of Flourishing without the land clause and you get to flash it in to be up a card plus hold mana open for counterspells instead of having to main phase it.

Taking away the drawback of Howling Mine effects (Greedo draws first) is interesting, but currently there's no need for such an effect to exist, nor has there been since the days of Owling Mine and Sudden Impact.

Maze's End could probably use it. Drawing into more fogs seems great. Can't think of anything else in Standard or Modern though. Maybe counterburn in Standard?
