Listen you peace loving Canadian, we ain't got time for dat here in Murica.
Do unto others like Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold would do - shoot for the head.
Have you tried doing that to someone running at you? It is a lot harder than it looks. There is a reason police and military are trained to shoot for center mass.

Right, that's pretty much my point. I think it's ridiculous that he chose to shoot for the head for multiple reasons.

Also,
Have you tried doing that to someone running at you?
No. Of course not. Have you?

Not in an actual life or death situation. It was hard enough in practice that I wouldn't dare try it for real.

Multiple shots to the chest didn't bring him down (he is running with his head down), eventually one of those bullet is going to crack a skull. I am convinced you have never shot a gun before Star.

I don't see the point in arguing about it since we weren't there and all accounts of the incident are just that, one persons recollection of a point in time. Some people lie, some people don't. Yes, everyone is entitled to analyze the situation and give their opinion. But unless we were there, we really don't know what happened.

And I'm convinced that you believe deadly force is something that should be used whenever someone shows aggression. I'm also convinced that nothing I say will change your view of that. I've already admitted that it's possible he was justified in using deadly force in this case, as Self Medicated just pointed out again. You're the only one in this argument who is taking a strong stance based on evidence that is at best contradictory.

You're wrong that I've never shot a gun, but you're right that I've never shot a gun at an enraged and (allegedly) charging suspect. I still don't believe that this cop was in mortal danger after having shot the guy 5 times in the front. Was the kill shot in the top of the head because he was bull-rushing the cop, or was it because he was already falling after having been shot multiple times? You have no idea and neither do I.

Sorry, hammy. I tried to bring James Bond in there for a bit, but lost track of the reason for posting somewhere along the way.

All I know is the following:
- a young man is dead.
- he was unarmed
- a cop has to live the rest of his life with this weighing on his soul
- race is still a very large issue in this country
- a community has lost whatever trust it had in police officers

Basically, no matter how you interpret the facts and events, nothing but anger, frustration, and sadness has resulted.

I don't understand how liberalism/conservatism plays into these things.

And of course it's a racial issue. That doesn't mean Wilson shot Brown simply because the former is white and the latter was black. But it has everything to do with the surrounding circumstances. There's a cycle of distrust that you simply don't have in white neighborhoods which forms the foundation of these issues and leads to situations which quickly spiral out of either party's control.

See, this is a fantastic example of a problem with the ambiguity of conjunctions.

Do you masturbate to the struggle of minorities and masturbate to fire?

Or do you masturbate to the struggle of minorities and the struggle of fire?

The sentence structure here isn't very clear and the context isn't enough to be sure. Perhaps you masturbate to the struggle of fire when it's burning minorities.

I do my best. But wait, there's more:

A drunk man walks into a bar. He stumbles up to the hugely muscled bartender and fixes him with a beady eye.

"My good sir, I want to buy everyone in the bar a drink and you can pour one for yourself as well."

"Yes, sir!" The bartender pulled drinks for everyone in the room and tossed back a whiskey straight himself before turning back to the man. "That will be $237, sir."

"I don't have any money," the man said. The bartender flew into a rage and beat the living tar out of the man before throwing him out of the bar.

The next night the man came back, even more drunk than before.

"Bartender," he said loudly. "I want to buy a drink for everyone here and be good enough to pour one for yourself too."

After the beating he'd given the poor guy the night before, there was no way the bartender could believe the fool would try the same thing twice in a row so he filled everyone's glass and swallowed a shot of whiskey himself.

"That will be $417, sir."

"I'm flat broke," the man said with a bleary smile.

The bartender screamed in frustration and pounded on the man with his fists, his feet and a few pieces of furniture before throwing him out the door.

The man came back the next night; limping.

"Bartender!" He said in ringing tones. "I want to buy everyone in the bar a drink!"

The bartender raised a brow. "What? You're not going to buy ME a drink tonight?"

"No," the man said. "You get MEAN when you get drunk."
