Breathe the pressure
Come play my game
I'll test ya
Psycho-somatic addict insane

Come play my game
Inhale Inhale
You're the victim
Come play my game
Exhale Exhale Exhale
You've been quoting this entirely too much lately. And because of that, I just had to crank it going to and from my 2nd birthday party.

God bless you, James.

Woke up this morning to 1/4" of ice on the car. It is currently 13 degrees outside and dropping.
Fuck, I hate winter.

Yeah, but you'd cut your way through 1" of ice every morning of your life with nothing but a toothpick if you could have it preceded by the "night before" that you had...I'm still in awe. :grovel: :grovel: :grovel:

BTW Khaos...we kept our promise to you from FB in honoring your birthday. Wine was indeed imbibed in the method described, including a remarkable interlude between the ladies involved.

This is strictly worse than the original.

It's more like comparing dog shit to human shit. They both smell awful. I'd actually never heard the original song until just now, since I'm a heterosexual and don't listen to the radio.

I would probably fuck Lindsey Stirling into next week, though. I mean, I would hit it

I'd fuck her, but her music is weird in that I'm in 2 minds about it. I've got a friend who plays classical violin and all that, and he went on a massive rant one day, and I can't say I disagree, after listening to all his info.

Her actual talent with the violin isn't all that, and she tries to cover it up with the pop/rock covers and gimicks. But her actual skill, especially when trying it live (see the tv show stuff she did), isn't really high enough to justify also dicking around while doing so.

So she's entertaining and all, but when you get down to brass-tacks, she just isn't a hugely talent violinist, and definitely not what people should think of when they think of legitimate violin.

Though he does give her credit for getting more people interested in the instrument.

What do y'all think?

Who cares if she is a virtuoso of the modern age or just a girl with a violin? Playing music is about taking what's in your soul and putting it into physical form through the medium of sound. If pop covers are what makes her tick, more power to her. There is no right way to play an instrument and dismissing any music that doesn't fit within the pre-concieved paradigm of what one considers "legitimate" artistry is what stifles creativity and music as a whole. If it weren't for people breaking what was considered "legitimate" at the time, we wouldn't have had the electric guitar, waltz (3/4) timing, blues, rock music, bass drops, anything innovative whatsoever.

Music is something that resonates on an individual level. If you don't feel it, that's cool. But it doesn't make it any lesser as art.

Just get a 1001 and crack it. I bought a PSP the day it came out, played it for a little while and then left it in the closet for literally years.

About a year ago I picked it up so that I could get around to playing Crisis Core. Did a little research, found a firmware set that would allow me to play any game I downloaded, and I never looked back. I still play it to this day, mostly for Dynasty Warriors and Warriors Orochi. It's nice to have something to do on my lunch break that doesn't involve watching television.

I would, but I'm honestly interested in a lot of the vita games... Just dunno if I'm $155 interested... Especially since the platform seems to not get much support, even though I'm not huge on the 3ds library atm...

I'm with Kaze about Lindsey Stirling...music should be about what you want to do, not about whether your a world-class talent. If what you do resonates with others, then all the better. I don't find her mind-blowing, but she's a fun performer and I like the mix of violin and dance with which she expresses herself.

@Kaze - Ear buds: From a budget perspective, I've always been quite pleased with offerings from both Skull Candy and MEE. I love music, but while I do imagine that the makers of uber-high-end buds can produce rooms full of data saying their products outshine "standard" fare, I have never been able to hear enough difference to justify the outrageous differences in price. I like SC's and MEE's because I get great sound without having to stress over losing a pair or breaking a wire.

I was considering SC since the price point is pretty low. So long as they stay in my ears whilst I run I don't pay much heed to brand names, either.

I like SC just fine. My current faves, however, are MEElectronics Sport-Fi M6; they have good sound, and the memory wire bases wrap over the top of your ears to keep them from getting dislodged by a wire snag. They are just under $19 on Amazon, again quite reasonable for the quality.

Yeah, when you mentioned running I thought you might find these appealing. I like them because I can go with 1 bud in (audio books) at work and don't have to reseat it every time a wire gets jostled.

I use $3 buds I got in the check out line at Walgreens 3 years ago. The sound quality may or may not be dog shit, I couldn't tell you, so why spend any more when I can't tell the difference between that and my friend's expensive Beats Audio buds?

So I went to the LGS today with a shopping list and unneeded singles to "finish" my edh deck (are they ever truly finished).
[cards]Teferi's puzzle box
Howling mine
Underworld dreams
Jace beleren
Gem of becoming
Kederekt parasite
Phyrexian tyranny
Nicol bolas
Crosis, the purger
Nicol bolas, planeswalker[/cards]

Only one of these cards is in stock (bolas 'walker), in fact they said they sold several of the cards on the list earlier today to one person who had also bought the crisis commander deck (they got some in stock yesterday apparently).

I was also looking for a miniature of a male human in heavy armor with a polearm (for pathfinder), and after lowering my standards to a spears they still only had 1 option that wasn't a big box, I ended up buying 2 war machine spearmen, and they look kinda silly. How is it that they have 8000 different dudes with swords and shields, but no
polearms outside of demon chicks with ransuers or tridents?

Why Gem of Becoming? Curious. Is it really that good in the way of mana fixing to have a spot in your 99?

I personally wouldn't even look at a pair of Beats anything, honestly. All style, no substance.

Gem is 80% about just getting cards in hand, I was going to replace wayfarer's bauble because I don't really need the acceleration, but finding lands is great. Also given the high color densities it is actually relevant fixing, so many double and triple costed things (especially in black). And with academy ruins it becomes hilarious.

Also, I'm going to a ptq level event this weekend (it's one of the atlanta area's biggest stores' yearend store championship tourney, has better prizes then an iq, minus the invite. Oh, and I call it pq level cause they run ptqs there)

I digress, I'm not sure whether I wanna run boros legions or dos rakis... Dos rakis seems like it might have more power to it, but is definitely less consistent... Was it Z who said something about at big tournies, powerful but slightly inconsistent decks can be okay, since it puts you in a position where you can sweep if the variance doesn't catch ya?

Not only that, but both decks saw really good success recently, with JS doing amazingly at the gp with legions, and Pedros(I think) taking down a high level event on mtgo(I think? I was a bit confused) with dos rakis...

Thoughts?
