I despise people who try to define what fun is and ban cards/archetypes because they're not fun.

Side note: My new hobby is finding Cockatrice "No MLD" games and playing the Stasis version of my Zedruu deck. Basically I know that means the host is a G or UG ramp-derp player and I want to hose him something fierce. It doesn't destroy lands; you just can't untap them.
I approve of this message.

I wish every EDH game contained one guy playing a Chaos deck.

Hell is other players.
This. It's kind of sad I have to avoid an entire game store's EDH night because the players that show up there suck at the game and are happy to sit in their shit behind their "It's casual, we don't do that" fort.

It also sucks because that particular store sells beer... on tap. I want to drink a glass of beer while playing magic. But not if some dipshit with a troll tribal deck is going to complain and scoop because of a strip mine.
Your LGS sells beer on tap? Fucking what?

Do other places do this?

^ I second that question. The idea of enjoying a highball of brewski while playing Magic is a special thing, but are Oregonians really so stone-cold crazy about their beer that they can't think of anything else to do in a place that has beers on tap than sit around and play nerd games?

I bet if they had a karaoke machine you'd not be calling them crazy in the slightest.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

See, if I had a second complaint, it would be Chaos decks. Really, though, Chaos isn't the problem. Poorly built Chaos is.

The Norin deck I run has been described as a Chaos deck. It's not. It's actually a control deck that has a plan to win. Confusion in the Ranks and Grip of Chaos are control pieces. Warp World is a win condition.

Most times, when I see people touting a "chaos deck," it's full of things like Blue Braids, Mana Flare, Eye of the Storm and Collective Voyage, with no
real win condition. I suppose that works when everyone at the table is playing CrawWurm.dec, but if anyone is playing a remotely tuned deck, it's a one way ticket to an irreparable board state. These kind of decks are not Chaos decks. They're "make the first combo player to untap win" decks. Then there's stuff like Thieves Auction and Scrambleverse. While these aren't combo enablers, they inspire "I don't feel like resolving that nonsense and then trying to get my cards back after the game" moments.

- Being told I cant play a style of deck cause someone else is playing it.

Complaining about people working together to stop you during your first of four turns in a row.

Your LGS sells beer on tap? Fucking what?

Do other places do this?

In portland, you're pretty much doing it wrong if your business allows people to sit around and you don't have beer.

It's just how it is here for some reason. We're huge drunks.

:munch: Until some drunk Fucktard spills his beer on your cards. :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame: --> :flame:

At my shop, we don't allow drinks on the table cause of that. It happened. Also, you can't legally drink and carry a weapon.
Soooooo.....beer at a game that can get some people into fights cause some guy hozes another's almost assembled Voltron. :no2:
Some can't hold their liqueur or are angry drunks.

Double sleeve. It gives your cards protection from Wrath of Coke Bottle.

How accurate is Portlandia?
The skits are basically exaggerations on accuracies.

example: the brunch episode. On sunday any place that has breakfast has a huge ass line. Obviously, Tim Robbins isn't in a fort around the corner running the line, but yeah, people fucking get huge hard ons for eating brunch here.

I guess the answer is that it's pretty accurate.

They should do a skit of EDH players here discussing how they want to kick the combo player out of the group, not because he plays combo, but because he brings shit beer.

My least favorite thing is the guy that whenever he is attacked, he whines that the attacker should attack me instead. Its always me, and dip-shit goes on for several minutes how he should not be attacked while the poor attacker keeps insisting that he's still attacking the dip-shit with a victim complex.
