It's gotten to the point where I just hate jace as a character. He is so overused I am surprised more people aren't sick of his ass.

thanks to nbw for the sig.
You do need to try to gay it up a little more.

You're like the least gay member of this clan.

And that's counting the fact that you voluntarily have sex with men.

Re: playing in Japan

Magic players as a demographic have better English skills than any other demographic I'm aware of. More players own at least sone English cards (typically 30yen less a pack) and are familiar with English keywords. Magic has been a good way for me to make English speaking friends / meet people interested in learning English.

Also, because the game is an English based game, the phases are Englush with katakana accent.

Untapu
Upkeepu
Mainu
Sento fasu (attack)
Damaju
Dai ni mainu (second main)
Endo

Our game typically play out half in English, half in Japanese. Most players are kind and accomodating, but you get dickheads on occasion.

Cheating is generaly a non-issue, but it does happen sometimes (shadowborn demon issue at recent fnm, free timewalk issue at the GP, there was an issue at a PTQ with Solemn10 and someone trying to pull a quick one).

Some people do try to abuse the
language barrier.

Going to Santa Clara PTQ this weekend.

Any of you nerds gonna be there? Ham? SM?
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

No. I've never had the opportunity to go to CFB for a PTQ. Shit, I think I've only gone to one PTQ ever and that was at my LGS. I'll probably be attending to family stuff. I told Ham I would try to make it up to Sac next time they had a PTQ or GPT.

Johnny, you're in Japan right now? I'm looking at my weekend options, and it looks like I can get to Fukuoka pretty easily.

Yeah, but it's expensive. For me it was cheaper to fly. Although if you're on a tourist visa you can get a special rail pass.

I can check if you like, but foils will be expensive.

I'm already sending some cards to NBW. I cpuld potentially send cards to others if you're willing to pay for them / shipping, but I don't know how you'd pay me since I closed (ragequit) my paypal account.

Despite being overused, he was well-written up until the Ravnica novellas. Don't get me wrong, he had a lot of depth there too, but his choices were very subservient to the plot (rather than his rationale) and it was too obvious.

Don't need to be foils, just normal Japanese cards. I'd be willing to pay for them plus postage somehow if we could work something out.

Zem, your decklist seems to be extremally anti-aggro in terms of main. Searing Blood and Firedancers - aren't these an overkill? I mean, when you face control, you're kind of screwed.

So let me clue you in on the big secret here.

Zem doesn't really know how to play Magic.

The plan is to give up some G1 vs your favourable matches to have a better G1vs your harder matches.

Deck is much better post board. It's ok to lose G1 if you win 2+3.

When was control a more favorable MU for burn then Aggro? Its more like Z has given up on the harder MU to make the favorable MU even more favorable (which is pretty much what the SCG Burn articles have been suggesting).

I think it should be ok for Australia's GP though - Aussies seem to love aggro and midrange, its not the approach I'll take if I expect a huge UW presence or an unknown meta since I prefer balance in my MUs.
