I despise playing online for the most part, the convenience is nice but for me the game is an inherently social experience and playing online removes that component. Combine this with a shitty interface, spotty uptime, and paying real money for virtual cards that require insane hoop jumping to convert into paper. Then again I live in a semi-major american city where I can get to a couple different LGSs fairly easily, so I have luxuries that a lot of people don't, I might feel different if my situation were different.

DS, I think you're playing for different reasons than the Z-Man. He's playing to be competitive. You seem to be going for the social experience. Smoking and joking while slinging some cards around with friends.

When you're doing it just to compete, online is definitely a lot better. You have access to more and better opponents. You don't have to deal with the fat smelly guy flipping the table when you topdeck your answer. You don't have to worry about the bitter asshole riffle shuffling your deck because you won game 1. You don't need to worry about the dude slipping cards into his draft/sealed pool because he really really wants to win.

So I was at walmart today and they had deckbuilder's tool kits for $15. Had sealed rtr, gatecrash,dragonsmaze, and m14 packs.
Rare slots
Return to Ravnica = hallowed fountain
Gatecrash = breeding pool
Dragon's Maze = melek, izzet paragon
M14 = mutavault

Serious value land pulls!

I'm a full retard spike, but I still like to have it as a night with the boys, rather than a night in the basement. I very, very seldom do alone.

Also, Zem, out of curiosity, how many tickets does the burn deck run on modo? Any idea when Journey Into Nyx drops on modi?

Holy shit... Not so bad if you don't need vaults... I can't justify rebuying vaults at that price.

Then play Mezzel's decklist, it's the best version without vaults. Mine would suck without them I think.

Do you know where I can find it?

Realistically, I'll probably stick with paper for now and revisit the idea in the fall. I also have a buddy that's willing to let me use his account (and I think he has vaults) so that might be an option.

I feel your pain, LD (still feels weird calling you that... ;-;)

I've thought about getting into mtgo a LOT, but rebuying my deck on there is just too much money. It'd be great for testing and derping around, but still

The issue is: burn doesn't suit me at all, while I know no shit about what's played now and what kind of deck should I build.
And I'm still kinda budgcaj so I'd probably go for some kind of cheap GR Aggro and die to MonoB and Burn all day.

[deck]Creatures (24):
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Rakdos Cackler
4 Burning-Tree Emissary
4 Firefist Striker
4 Fanatic of Xenagos
4 Ghor-Clan Rampager

Other Spells (14):
4 Shock
4 Magma Jet
4 Lightning Strike
2 Xenagos, the Reveler

Lands (22):
4 Stomping Ground
4 Temple of Abandon
2 Gruul Guildgate
12 Mountain[/deck]

Lack of Mutavaults makes this deck preetty bad. I'm thinking about going three colours so I can be a greedy bitch while explaining people how I don't play mutas.
