I always assumed K(C)haos Pawn since Khao isn't a thing and, as such, would have trouble spawning anything.
A 'K' just
seems stronger than a 'C' I think. Plus, my middle name starts with a K so there's that too. :isthatso:

I dunno, the word just came to me one day years ago and I dug it, so I started using it. It's completely mine and I like it.
Yup, it's completely yours

(dear god you sweet soul never google Khaospawn)
You find my Facebook or something?
I did.

It's just as unfiltered as you are here.
Well, what did you expect? I only have 2 modes: All or Nothing.

So, Standard Burn is where it's at?
It's one of three tier 1 decks; though it's substantially less forgiving than the other two.

I'd call it tier 1.5. It's good against the top decks, but you lose to randomness and have an overall low power level which does not a tier 1 deck make.

I respectfully disagree. I think it has a really good random stuff match up. I checked today and I'm 76% with it this season.

IDk, Vidi went 6-3 losing to the mirror, something random, and mono-green agro dudes(aka something random). The actual quote:

Me: Day 2?
Vidi: Fuck no. Lost mono-green witchstalkers, arbor colossus and shit.

Also, Friday conversation when we're just hanging out bullshitting. Kibler just announces that "I play 13 basics and have fucking lifegain in my board. Eat that burn players."

It's not that the draws are inconsistent, it's that the deck is very unforgiving with scrys and burning creatures vs. players at the wrong times.

If you want a consistent deck that can just roll people, play mono-blue. Most all standard decks are very skill-intensive no matter how biased anyone is or isn't, but mono-blue is one of the decks that's forgiving of misplays by virtue of being an agro deck with 2 very broken cards(thassa, master of waves).

I played Vidi in the mirror at GP Phoenix. Really cool guy. Game 1 both of us had to mull to 5 so we spent a few turns playing draw go.

Game 2 it was a bit better with me managing to fire off a Warleader's helix to put me just enough ahead. He did have a BlOb out though but I believe he misplayed the turn firing off an extorted magma jet which allowed me to helix since he didn't have Skullcrack mana up. We talked about it a little after the match and I believe he said he got a little too greedy trying to extort off and should have held back a bit since he had double Skullcrack in his hand.

Overall good game and fun experience.
It was pretty damn cool to play against Vidi since I remembered him from VS System and my brother would net deck his Teen Titans list.

Yeah, Vidi's a great guy. When we where talking on Friday, he was still unsure of what deck to play and had something like 4 decks with him. Looking back, I think we both should have played MBC or esper, since aside from his loss to you, all of our match losses where related to deck power level and/or being trumped.

After something like 5 games of flooding/screw, we decided all magic games should be played where you just draw your 7, flip the top 8 cards and decide the winner based on that.

I absolutely LOVE the flavor/design of Squelching Leeches...a true black card. I don't love that it's in the 4 slot, but then it is at uncommon which means it will make for some fun in Limited.

Keranos is slow, but he is designed appropriate to his colors...he offers card advantage and VCA/damage, but with the red "randomness" of relying on the topdeck. It's actually a strong set of effects in combination with a scry-heavy deck design; if you can control your top card before the reveal, then you get to choose drawing an extra card or delivering a bolt nearly every turn. But at 5CMC he doesn't get going until T6, so you would have to be controlling the board in order to put him to use. I want to like him in a Grixis shell given all the low-cost removal and burn, but the lack of a full-on black sweeper by T4 weakens the plan. UWR will therefore be the likely call, with counters, bounce and burn into Verdict, then Keranos to run away with CA. But arguably one could play the same strategy with Chandra and it's not being done (though she's a lot easier to remove than a god at present), so the overall
viability of such a strategy in the current meta is debatable.

Keranos seems baller. 5 mana phyrexian arena's have been playable before I think and the other half of the time he nukes a guy? Seems legit.

Chandra is WAAAAAY shittier with counterspells than keranos, she's also hard to protect in a control shell, and her +1 basically isn't useful, and you never ever want to tap out for her since the most she'll do in a control deck the turn she comes down is kill an x/1

I agree with you LK that the card in a vacuum is freakin' nuts; I just don't know if it has a viable home right now. I loved Bloodgift Demon, but the various metas held him down to being only fringe-playable. Then again, we've seen only a few cards of the set thus far...Izzet could be up to get some love along with their scryland.

@ Calamity - Don't disagree with you at all...Chandra is indeed harder to keep alive as I said. The fact that Keranos can flat-out kill things or your opponent once he's established on the board in addition to drawing cards is nuts.

Worth noting--SCG brought Keranos out (their feature card) at $25 and it is not really moving...they are banking on being able to drop the price then get more buy-ins at $20 or worst-case $15 rather than doing as they've done with Iroas and others by starting lowish and then bumping the price until it stabilizes. They miss the
initial manic sales, but they are evidently banking on the card being playable.
