He really is a nice guy...
What does this have to do with ugliness?
Standard hobos who play budget garbage should be looked upon with suspicion.

A guy from Sneak and Show just posted this fantastic article to reddit:
https://www.sneakandshow.com/article/biggest-biases
Give it a read.
I stumbled upon it literally right after finishing up an essay for a college application on the lessons I learned from a failure at my first "big" Magic tournament, namely to lose the feeling that I'm entitled to a single goddamn thing I don't work for and to never make excuses for my losses if I'm looking to improve. It's good to see that there's people worth listening to trying to teach Magic players to quit
being such whiners.
Excellent article. I wish he gave some ideas on how to correct them.
Being aware of them is the starting point. Simply reread this article every single day (put it on your phone, reread between rounds at tourneys too) until every single time you fall into one of these patterns of thinking an internal voice kicks in and says "Hang on a minute, you're thinking shit again." Then think what he says in the article :D

I'm not joking at all - you (and myself and many others) are in the habit of thinking shit to put it bluntly and IMHO "habits are more powerful than momentary desire. Habits are more powerful than information. Habits are more powerful than guilt. And only a conscious, concerted effort will override them."

If you're interested in how much crap we think this is a good summary and this is where to go next (IMHO).

If you are interested in habits and changing them then this is an excellent resource. Sign up and get the download. I don't know the guy at all but it's an EXCELLENT read on the subject.

The girl and I have our 1 yr anniversary tonight, not much to some, but for me it is (I never stay interested past 3 months typically). After a solid dinner at an Atlanta hotspot, I plan on laying it down to this jam: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95v-7wZYFgg

That deck isn't horrible, guy I know plays it to moderate success, though I think he started playing it to troll (he replaced the eidolon a with ogre house chain walkers as he didn't know when to bring them in)

Gore-House isn't horrendous. I mean, Eidolon is probably just better a vast majority of the time, but hey, if it works for him, fuck it.

The sick thing was he said they were great against Jund (I believe)

I've played Boss sligh in a bunch of events including cashing an open where i got unlucky in pairings and recently winning a virtual 1k standard tourney through a sea of hate(golgari charms and drown in sorrow every other round).
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

I don't really see the point of having rabblemaster in that deck since he's the only goblin

Sure, he will rack up an army over time but why even bother

Like, I get it, I really do, but I just don't have a high opinion of devotion red anymore. You're matchups just aren't there. You also can't play zero removal spells in this format and expect to win games consistently.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Although I won only one match at the GD, I still finished 8th and got the top 8 promo (only 10 players total).

And I usually do good trades on GDs. Today's wtf trade was this:

I got:

1 Shivan Reef (M15)
1 Epic Experiment
1 Worldfire
1 Ashen Rider
2 Reforge the Soul

For my

1 Fathom Mage
1 Quickling
1 Phalanx Leader (Game Day promo)

His suggestion and since he's not a new player I said thanks for trade and took the cards.
